Scott Heisler

Assistant Coach

Heisler, a native of South Bend, Indiana, served as head men's lacrosse coach at the University of Nottingham in Nottingham, England. During his two years there, he coached three teams and guided Nottingham to a school-record point total in the British University College Sports league competition. Several of his players were selected to all-star national and regional teams. A 2011 graduate of the College of Wooster with a degree in communication studies, Heisler played four years of defense for the Fighting Scots lacrosse team, including three seasons for current Yellow Jackets head coach Jason Tarnow. After graduating from Wooster, Heisler attended University College Dublin (Ireland) and received a master of science degree in sport and exercise management in December 2012. He played lacrosse for UCD and also competed with the Ireland National Development team at the 2012 European Lacrosse Festival in Amsterdam and at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship Festival in Denver. He also played attack for the Nottingham City Club from 2012-2014, led the team and league in scoring in 2013 and helped Nottingham win the league championship and Cup Play title that season. Jason Tarnow

Assistant Coach

Tarnow has the Yellow Jacket program ready to compete for an Ohio Athletic Conference Championship and its first-ever berth in the NCAA Division III National Tournament in 2015-2016. Tarnow is BW's first-ever men's lacrosse coach. In his first three seasons, he has produced two winning teams and one with a .500 mark, and he enters his fourth season at the helm with a 25-15 record and a .625 winning percentage. In 2014-2015, Tarnow's team continued to make great strides and posted a 12-3 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the OAC. His squad set a school-record by winning its first 11 contests, and the season mark for victories with 12. Tarnow came to BW after serving as the Director of Athletic Facilities at the Severn School in Serverna Park, Maryland (August 2010-July 2012). Prior to that position, he built a successful college program at Wooster. Tarnow was the Head Coach at The College of Wooster for nine seasons. His teams never had a losing season and posted a 72-51 record with a .577 winning percentage.  The 72 wins is the most in Fighting Scot history. Tarnow also coached 39 All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) student-athletes, two Division III All-Americans and a North-South All-Star Game participant. He was selected the NCAC Coach of the Year in 2004 after his team won the schools first NCAC title with a school-best overall record of 11-3. Before taking over at Wooster, Tarnow served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at NCAA Division I Butler (Ind.) University and as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Salisbury (Md.) University. Tarnow, a 2000 graduate of Salisbury with a bachelor of arts in communications, was a goalie on the lacrosse team at NCAA Division I Michigan State University before the program was cut during the winter of 1997. While at MSU, he was a two-year starter and ranked in the Top-15 all-time in saves. He then transferred to perennial Division III powerhouse Salisburg for his final two seasons. At Salisbury, Tarnow was the 1998 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Player-of-the-Year, a two-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American and was the Most Valuable Player of the 1999 National Champion Team. He still ranks eighth all-time in Sea Gull history with 318 career saves.
