Levi Gallas

Head Coach

Levi Gallas is entering his first year as a member of the Grizzly Athletic Family. Gallas stepped into the role of Head Football Coach December of 2024.  Gallas comes to Adams State after two seasons as the defensive coordinator for West Texas A&M who competes in a competitve Lone Star Conference.  Prior to that he was a key part of the coaching staff at Nebraska-Kearney for six seasons, including two as defensive coordinator. Under his leadership, the Lopers' defense achieved significant success, ranking third in scoring defense and first in pass efficiency defense in the MIAA during his final season in 2022. His coaching career also includes five seasons at Eastern New Mexico, where he oversaw special teams, defensive backs, and the defensive line. During his tenure, the Greyhounds earned multiple defensive accolades, including leading the conference in rush defense twice and ranking second in interceptions in 2015. As a player at Adams State, Gallas was a two-time team captain, All-RMAC selection, and the football team MVP in 2009. He also competed in track and earned his bachelor’s degree in human performance and physical education in 2010. He and his wife, Haley, along with their children, Paxton and Oakley, are thrilled to rejoin the Grizzly family.

Demari Reynolds

Assistant Coach

Demari Reynolds is entering his first season as a part of the Adams State Athletic Family. Fall of 2024 will be his first season as an Assistant Football Coach for the ASU Football Team.  Reynolds returns to Adams State after spending the last 8 years coaching at the High School level. Most recently Reynolds was the Head Football Coach / Offensive Coordinator for John F. Kennedy High School in Denver, Colorado.  Demari, an Adams State University graduate, was a four-year student-athlete on the ASU Football team from 2013-2016. During his senior season, Reynolds served as captain of the team and finished his senior season with 41 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 6 pass break ups, 4 forced fumbles, 4 field goal block and 1 touchdown.  The Denver, Colorado native graduated from Adams State University in 2016 with a Bachelors Degree in Business & Kinesiology and is currently in his Masters program. Demari has a daughter named Amari.

Nick Gossage

Assistant Coach

Nick Gossage is entering his first season as a member of the Adams State Athletic Family. Fall 2025 will be his first season as the defensive line coach for the Grizzlies. Gossage comes to Adams State from Chadron State, where he served during the 2023 season as a coaching assistant for the offensive line before returning to the playing field for the Eagles in fall 2024. While pursuing his master's degree, Gossage played eight games for the Eagles during the 2024 season as a member of the offensive line. Before Chadron State, Gossage played football at Fort Hays State, where he spent three seasons on the offensive line. He contributed to a record-setting offense that led the MIAA in multiple categories, including total offense and yards per game, and helped two quarterbacks surpass 3,000 passing yards. Gossage graduated from Fort Hays State in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in social sciences.

Ziere Banner

Ziere Banner is entering his second year as a member of the Grizzly Athletic Family. Fall 2025 is his second season as a Graduate Assistant for Adams State Football. Before returning to his Alma Mater to coach, Banner trained and mentored younger athletes.  Banner graduated from Adams State in 2019 with bachelors degree in mass communications. Where he was a member of the football team as a wide feceiver for the grizzlies from 2016 to 2019. Before Adams State Banner played at the University of Texas at El Paso where he was a true freshmen playing in 6 games for the miners including the New Mexico Bowl.  He is currently enrolled in Adams State M.B.A program where he is studying business administration with an emphasis in leadership.

Daniel Rowlett

Daniel Rowlett is in his first year as a member of the Adams State Athletic Family. Fall 2024 will be his first year as an Assistant Coach working with Tight Ends on the Football Team.  Rowlett comes to Adams State from New Mexico Highlands where he spent six months as the tight ends coach after completing his playing career at McPherson College. During his 2 year career at McPherson, Rowlett played Fullback and Tight End and obtained his bachelor's degree in business administration.  Prior to McPherson, Rowlett played two years at Merced College and one year at Modesto Junior College. The Gustine, California native is working on his MBA with a concentration in finance.

Nic Olney

Coach

Nic Olney is entering his first season as part of the Adams State athletic family. Fall 2025 will be his first season as the recruiting coordinator and offensive line coach for the ASU football team. Olney comes to Adams State from the University of Minnesota Morris, where he coached the offensive line, tight ends, and kickers. Under his coaching, three of the five starting offensive linemen earned all-conference recognition, including one all-region selection. Prior to Minnesota Morris, Olney spent more than 20 years coaching at the high school level at various schools in the Colorado Springs area, including serving as head coach at St. Mary's High School, Widefield and Banning Lewis Prep. He has experience building programs from the ground up, leading Banning Lewis to an undefeated record in four seasons without a losing season during that time. Olney earned his Bachelor of Science in sport and exercise science from the University of Northern Colorado in 2005. In 2007, he received a Master of Arts in teaching from Grand Canyon University. He later graduated from Adams State in 2011 with a Master of Arts in human performance with an emphasis in coaching before returning in 2014 to earn his educational leadership credential. Olney played offensive line at Colorado College in Colorado Springs from 1999 to 2001 and currently resides in Alamosa with his son, Todd, who is a student assistant for the football team.

Caleb Kizewski

Caleb Kizewski is entering his first year as a member of the Adams State athletic family. Fall 2025 will be his first season as the special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach for the Grizzlies. Kizewski comes to Adams State from Monmouth College, where he was an assistant coach, coaching linebackers for one season. Before Monmouth, he spent two seasons at Emporia State as a graduate assistant, first coaching the offensive line in 2022 before serving as the special teams coach and assistant linebackers coach for the 2023 season. The Hornets went 9-3 in both seasons, earning bowl wins each year, while Kizewski coached two All-American linemen, an All-American punter and an all-conference linebacker during that time. Before Emporia, Kizewski coached at Division III Rose-Hulman for the 2021 season as a running backs coach. While he was there, the Fightin' Engineers were HCAC champions and received an NCAA playoff berth, along with an all-conference and all-region running back selection. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native graduated with his bachelor's degree in human performance and sport from New Mexico Highlands, where he was a tight end on the football team for three seasons. He earned his master's degree in health, physical education and recreation from Emporia State in 2024.

Chase Kyser

Coach

Chase Kyser is entering his first year as a member of the Adams State athletic family. Fall 2025 will be his first season as the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator for the Grizzlies. Kyser comes to Adams State from West Texas A&M, where he coached two seasons alongside new Adams State head coach Levi Gallas as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Buffaloes. Before West Texas A&M, Kyser spent one season as the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Javelina offense averaged 370.4 yards and 29.9 points per game in 2022, featuring a balanced attack with 203.7 passing yards and 166.8 rushing yards per contest. TAMUK ranked third in the Lone Star Conference in scoring offense while sitting fourth in total offense and fourth in rushing yards per game. Before heading to Texas, Kyser was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for New Mexico Military Institute, where he helped the Broncos win the program's first-ever NJCAA Division I national championship in 2021. Kyser worked with the wide receivers at Chadron State for the 2016 season after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Eastern New Mexico. The Roswell, New Mexico, native graduated from Eastern New Mexico in 2013 with his bachelor's degree in English; Secondary Education after spending four seasons with the Greyhounds, where he was a four-year contributor as a wide receiver. Kyser also received his master's degree in Sports Administration in 2015 from Eastern New Mexico. Chase and his wife, Morgan, are the proud parents of two children.
