Katie Apostolopoulos

Head Coach

Effective Monday, September 16, 2024, Katie Apostolopoulos has been tabbed the tenth head coach for Adelphi University softball.  In her inaugural campaign, Apostolopoulos guided her team to a 24-27 record, highlighted by a magical run in the NE10 Championship Tournament. The Panthers swept #2 Saint Anselm College and kept things rolling with a win over #6 Assumption before their season came to a close. Following the team's strong second half, "Coach A" had four players earn all-conference honors: Courtney Murphy and Lily Kenney were named to the All-Conference Second Team, Zee Zee Shreter was selected to the All-Defensive Team, and Maddy Moore earned an All-Rookie selection. Prior to coming to Garden City, Apostolopoulos spent two years at Cedar Crest College from 2016 to 2018. During the 2017 campaign, her program broke the school record for wins in a single season and made back-to-back appearances in the conference tournament. Soon after, she was named Head Coach at the New York Institute of Technology before the athletics program was disbanded in 2020. Before her stint at Cedar Crest, she also recorded stops at Iona College and her alma mater, Kutztown University. She was born on Long Island, but moved with her family from Floral Park to Lancaster, Pa., at age 2. A standout in her four-year playing career as a catcher at Kutztown, she helped lead the Golden Bears to the Division II national championship game as a senior. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Rookie of the year, she concluded her career as a three-time All-Conference selection and All-Region honoree. In 209 games (207 starts) during her four-year collegiate career, Apostolopoulos hit .310 with 22 homers and 117 RBIs in 642 at-bats. Kutztown posted a 173-63 record (.733) during that span. Apostolopoulos, or "Coach A" lives on Long Island with her family.  Apostolopoulos's Year-by-Year Coaching Record Year -Overall- -Conference- -Notes- W-L Pct.
