Adrian College Men's Basketball

Brent Greenwood '14 enters his fifth season as Men's and Women's Golf Head Coach in 2025-26. Greenwood is a 2014 graduate of Adrian College and previously spent four seasons as the Head Coach of the Adrian College Club Baseball team from 2017-2021. Greenwood led the women's golf team to the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023 in Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida after winning the MIAA Regular Season and Spring Finale. He coached Olivia Ohmer to the MIAA Player of the Year in 2023, and Cameron Bozyk of the men's team to the MIAA Player of the Year in 2025. Greenwood has played golf since he was five years old and spent four years on the Whitmer High School golf team. During his senior year he was a Day Two medalist of the City League Championship and finished 10th overall. After college, Greenwood has played in numerous golf leagues and tournaments. At Adrian he assisted the men's and women's golf team for the past three seasons during the spring trips to South Carolina. "I am really excited and thankful for the opportunity to lead our men's and women's golf teams," Greenwood said after being hired in 2021. "Coach Williams has done a great job building the program over the last 8 years and I will look to build on his success." During his tenure at the helm of the Bulldogs' club baseball team, Greenwood led the team to a 55-39 record for a .585 winning percentage and three championships at the conference, district and national levels.  In 2018-19, Greenwood led the program that was promoted to Division 2 of the National Club Baseball Association, ending up with a 19-8 overall record against tougher competition. Adrian just missed the postseason with a 10-5 mark in the Northern Plains East Region Conference. The Bulldogs produced a team-record three NCBA All-Americans: senior pitcher Mark Cash, senior second baseman Tyler Roushia and sophomore first baseman Evan Gugnacki all on the second team. In the program's inaugural season during the 2017-18 school year, all Greenwood did was pilot the Bulldogs to the 2018 NCBA World Series title in Dubois, Pa., while outscoring their opponents 17-0 in three games. The Bulldogs finished at 22-5 overall, which also included an 11-0 NCBA District II West Conference mark. Adrian beat Edinboro two-games-to-one in the district championship series as part of a 5-1 postseason. He coached junior pitcher Kyle Stratton, who was selected the most outstanding player at the NCBA World Series. Greenwood’s previous coaching experience included leading the Sylvania (Ohio) Southview High School junior varsity in spring 2016. He also served a season as the head coach for the Adrian Dirtbag Baseball Club 9-and-under team, and also was a volunteer assistant on the Adrian varsity baseball squad in 2017 when it won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament. Greenwood graduated from the College in May 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in bachelor of business administration. A two-time Dean’s List recipient, he made the MIAA Honor Roll during his junior year. As a senior, he served as the captain for the 2014 Bulldogs baseball team that went 33-15 overall, captured the MIAA championship with a 21-7 league mark and advanced to the finals of the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional. The Toledo Whitmer High product was very active with community service while a student-athlete at the College, participating in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer; Boys and Girls Club volunteer for theme housing requirement; four-year Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) baseball representative; Trick or Treat patrol volunteer, helping kids stay safe on Halloween; and AC Bulldogs Field Day volunteer, partnering with YMCA and elementary school children in various sports stations. “Brent epitomizes the Bulldog culture of excellence in academics, athletics and community service, so we are pleased that he has accepted this position to head up the latest program on the Adrian Athletics offerings," former Athletic Director, Mike Duffy, said. "His experience as a NCAA student-athlete and familiarity with both the College and the area will serve him well to attract recruits, develop well-rounded young men and build a competitive squad.” Now current Athletic Director, Craig Rainey, added: “I feel that Adrian College continues to set ourselves apart as a college that gives every student the opportunity to achieve their goals. The addition of club baseball is just another avenue for students to live out their dreams of playing baseball. As a person that loves the game of baseball and the opportunity it gives young people to grow into their own person, it is just another great opportunity.” Greenwood also left his mark on the diamond as one of the best pitchers in Adrian’s baseball history that dates back to 1901. The right-hander who posted a 14-11 career record ranked first with a 2.37 earned-run average, seventh with a .262 opponents’ batting average, eighth with 125 strikeouts and 10th with 182 innings pitched when he graduated. He issued only 36 walks during his career to list second in school history with 1.78 walks per 9 when he left. He is an avid fan of the MLB's Cleveland Guardians. *Updated July 3, 2025*

Returning to his alma mater in 2020-21, Doug Raymond '14, served as the ACHA Men's Division 1 Assistant Coach and the ACHA Men's Division 3 hockey Head Coach for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons. He now serves as a full time Associate Head Coach for the Bulldogs' nationally-ranked and three-time ACHA Men's Division 1 National Championship team. The 2025-2026 season marks Raymond's sixth season with the MD1 Bulldogs and fourth as the team's Associate Head Coach. Aside from co-leading the charge, Coach Raymond also coordinates film sessions, workouts, recruiting, and practice plans for the team. Raymond spent two years coaching the Kingsville Kings and prior to that, five seasons with the Seguin Huskies and Parry Sound Islanders Junior A hockey teams from 2015 to 2018. All teams are members of the Greater Metro Hockey League in Ontario, Canada. In the 2016-17 season, he led the Islanders to a franchise-best record of 34-7-1 and won the North Division title but lost in the Russell Cup Finals. He was named the GMHL Coach of the Year that season and was named a finalist for the honor in 2019-20. He also was chosen to coach in the league's all-star game three times during his junior hockey coaching career.   Raymond's other coaching experience includes Competitive Edge Skating out of Brighton, Canton High School varsity hockey coach (2014-15) and Detroit Catholic Central High junior varsity baseball coach (2008-09).   Doug played his collegiate hockey at Adrian College, winning a historic three straight ACHA Division 3 National Championships from 2012-14 as a member of the Bulldogs' Gold squad. Doug earned All-Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference All-Star three times (2012-14) and twice made the all-conference first team (2011-12). He graduated from Adrian College in the spring of 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management. Doug played three years of junior hockey for the Missoula Maulers of the American West Hockey League, serving as a team captain for his final two seasons. Raymond now holds three ACHA National Championships as a player and two as a coach. *Updated as of July 2, 2025*  

James (Jim) Mahony '00 graduated from Adrian College in 2000 where he was involved in Theta Chi Fraternity, the Student Government Association, played on the golf and tennis teams, and participated in numerous clubs and organizations…he was even involved in a few theatrical productions! After receiving his Masters in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University in 2002, he began working as a professional fundraiser at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. In 2006, he came back to Adrian College to work in the Office of Development. Jim had the pleasure of working with some amazing colleagues during the Renaissance I, Renaissance II, and IMPACT Campaigns. In 2012, Jim was promoted to Vice President for Development and has had the privilege of serving AC in this role since then. Jim has served the local board of the Boys and Girls Club, the finance committee for the Holy Family Church, and currently serves on the board of directors for Share the Warmth of Lenawee. Jim and his wife Lora ’00 have three children: Aiden, Cameron, and Quinn. Lora works as a third grade teacher at Madison Elementary School. The Mahonys reside in Adrian, a community they continue to love and support. *Updated as of July 1, 2025*  

Carter Clarke begins his first season as Assistant Coach of Adrian College Men's NCAA Hockey in 2025-26. Clarke had previously acted as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Men's NCAA hockey team at Adrian College and was part of the 2022 National Championship team. After his first stint with the Men's NCAA hockey team, Clarke served as Head Coach of the Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 1 hockey team from 2022-2024. Originally from Arnprior, Ontario, Canada but a current native of Tecumseh, Michigan, Clarke was hired in 2022 as the Women's Division 1 program's then fourth Head Coach since the team's inception in 2012. In two seasons with the WD1 Bulldogs, Clarke coached the team to a 55-16-2 record and two consecutive CCWHA Conference Playoff Championships. In 2024, Clarke led the WD1 Bulldogs to the program's first ACHA National Championship victory after a historic run at the National Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri. The 2024 WD1 National Championship was also the first national title for women's athletics in Adrian College team history! Clarke has coached numerous ACHA All-Americans and CCWHA All-Conference players in his two years with the team. In the summer of 2024, Clarke left Adrian for an Assistant Coach position with the University of Wisconsin-Stout's Men's NCAA hockey program where he spent one season. In 2022, Clarke graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management.  

Miles Caine began coaching at Adrian College as head cross country coach and track and field distance coach in the fall of 2023. Caine will also work under Ty Hoover who serves as Director of Track and Field and Cross Country. Caine will assist in distance events for the track and field season in addition to coaching cross country in the fall.   Caine is a 2021 graduate of Wittenberg University where he majored in exercise science.  At Wittenberg, he was a member of the varsity cross country team and track and field team. After college, Caine returned home to Ypsilanti, Michigan where he served as a coach at the Ann Arbor Athletic Club. He worked with clients in different training courses along with stability and mobility classes.   In 2022, Caine went on to become the assistant cross country and track and field coach at Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia. At Alderson Broaddus, he conducted practices for distance athletes while also writing individual running, strength and conditioning, and stability and mobility workouts. He also assisted the team in recruiting distance athletes.  

Adam Beam joined the Adrian College Men's Basketball program as an Assistant Coach in August 2024. He comes to Adrian from Wittenberg University, where he helped lead the team to an impressive 18-9 record in 2023-24. At Wittenberg, he served as the Head Recruiting Coordinator and Head JV Coach, contributing significantly to the program's success. Beam's coaching journey began at Ohio University, where he gained valuable experience as a student manager. He continued his development at Wright State University, where, as the Head Student Manager, the team won the 2018 Horizon League Tournament Championship, and was a 2019 & 2020 National Invitational Tournament qualifier during his tenure. After graduating, Beam took on the role of Assistant Coach at Alfred University, where he compiled an impressive 44-19 record. Notably, he guided the team to victory in the 2022-2023 ECAC Tournament; the first tournament win in the program's history. A proud alumni of Wright State, Beam graduated in May 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Adrian College community and look forward to the impact he will have on our basketball program. Brett Siewertsen '21 began his first season as bench boss of Men's ACHA Division 3 Hockey in 2024-25. He has also previously served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for Adrian College ACHA Hockey in the seasons prior to taking over as Head Coach in 2024. He currently serves his second tenure as a volunteer assistant under newly hired Head Coach, Rodney Stewart. Siewertsen graduated from Adrian in 2021 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Sport Management and played four seasons for the Men's ACHA Division 2 program from 2017-2021. During his Bulldog playing career, the Grand Rapids native registered three goals and thirteen assists for sixteen points in 65 total games played. Upon completing his college hockey playing career, he then signed a professional hockey contract in 2022 with the Gaylord Snow of the MIHL. *Updated as of August 22, 2025*  

Tyler Cataline previously served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach on the Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 2 hockey team's staff in 2024-25, demonstrating player encouragement, assisting with recruiting, and helping lead the Bulldogs to a third-straight Men's Division 2 Central Regional Tournament appearance.   Coming along with him to Adrian College is Cataline's 22 years of experience in coaching hockey. Since 2003, the Pleasant Lake native has spent a total of 9 years as an Assistant Coach with Jackson College, Lansing Community College, Saginaw Valley State University, and Adrian College. Cataline has also dedicated some of his time to Jackson High School and Lumen Christi High School as an Assistant Coach.   To round out his years of hockey coaching experience, Cataline spent 7 seasons as Head Coach of the Central Michigan University Men's ACHA Division 3 hockey team from 2014-2017 and 2019-2023.   Cataline will take over the reigns of the MD2 Bulldogs immediately and begin to prepare for his first season as bench boss in the 2025-2026 season, with goals to return the team to the ACHA National Championships next year. He will also contribute to the Men's ACHA Division 1 Hockey coaching staff as an Assistant Coach going forward. *Updated as of April 4, 2025*
