Adrian College Women's Wrestling

Cliff Cushard is entering his ninth year leading the Adrian College women's wrestling program in the 2025-26 season. AT ADRIAN The 2018-19 season was the best in program history for the women's team, finishing 15th in the nation - the highest the team has finished. Cushard has helped build the culture and success of both Bulldogs programs for the past three seasons since the men's team was revived for the first time since the 1984 season and the women's side was introduced as a new varsity sport in 2015. WCWA/INDIVIDUAL ACCOLADES UNDER COACH CUSHARD He developed and coached the first Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association All-American in school history in its very first season. The team also had the second-best team GPA in all of women's wrestling, with three athletes being named Scholar All-Americans by the NWCA. PRIOR TO CURRENT POSITION Before Adrian, Cushard served as an assistant and then head coach at Grass Lake High School from 2010 to 2016. He has coached Michigan women's national teams since 2010, developed over 20 wrestlers who have competed at the college level and/or represented the USA in international competitions; and mentored several All-Americans who have won national titles. An experienced clinician, Cushard also has coached at the club and middle school levels. Cushard received a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Detroit in 1992, graduating magna cum laude. Cliff lives in Grass Lake with his wife, Sarah, their three daughters Samantha, Deven and Kaelyn, and his granddaughter, Marceline. All of his daughters wrestle, including the two oldest having placed numerous times as All-Americans. Samantha was the first-ever female All-American for Adrian College at the 2016 Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association national tournament. *Updated as of July 3, 2025*  

Autumn Rux '19 first joined the Adrian College women's wrestling coaching staff in 2019. Autumn graduated from Adrian in 2019 with a BS in interior design. She was then promoted to Associate Head Coach in August 2024. The 2025-2026 season will be her second as Associate Head Coach of the program. Her experience in wrestling consists of being the first and only USA woman wrestler in history to repeat three titles. She also is a 7-time Athletic All-American for USA wrestling. *Updated as of July 3, 2025*
