Jake Taber
Head Coach
Taber, who was named head coach March 26, 2012, has been at the helm for school records in 25 events. In addition, Albion has produced 14 MIAA event champions and honorable mention All-Americans in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle and 400 and 800 freestyle relay events Taber arrived at Albion after five seasons as the head coach at Olivet College. In addition to developing MIAA champions, the 2007-2008 womens team posted the second-highest grade-point average in Division III and 26 school records were broken out of 46 total events. He was recognized with the American Swimming Coaches Associations Award of Excellence in 2009 and 2010, an honor reserved for coaches who have led a swimmer to a top-eight finish at one of several USA national-level championships. A 2004 graduate of Hope College, Taber got his start in the coaching profession as an assistant coach with the mens and womens teams at his alma mater. He was placed in charge of recruiting, and he mentored 29 scholar-athletes who amassed 184 All-America and honorable mention All-America awards.
