Bill Moyer
Head Coach
Moyer was chosen as the head women's golf coach at Albright prior to the 2012 spring season and was then named the head men's coach that summer, after the retirement of Ray Mest. In 2015, Moyer led the Lions men's team to a third-place finish at the Commonwealth Conference Championship. Avery Jones and Samuel Ignatuk each earned First Team All-Commonwealth Conference honors. The Lion men placed fourth in the Commonwealth Conference in both 2013 and 2014. Over those two seasons, Albright combined to win eight events, including Yocum Cup victories over rival Alvernia in the fall of 2012, 2013 and 2014. In his coaching career, Moyer has coached five First Team All-Commonwealth Conference performers in Avery Jones, Samuel Ignatuk and Chelsea Campbell. Moyer was a Pennsylvania state police trooper from 1986 until his retirement at the rank of corporal in April 2011. After serving as a patrol trooper in Coatesville, Hamburg and Reading, he became a criminal investigator where he did criminal assessment, profiling, and investigated homicides and cold case homicides. He also served in the United States Army for three years, earning an honorable discharge in September 1979. A former PIAA District and Boyertown High School standout, Moyer is a lifelong golfer and a current member of the Golden Oaks Golf Club. He has a USGA Handicap of 3.9 and has won tournaments in Montgomery County and better ball competitions in Berks and Dauphin counties. Moyer has also volunteered as coordinator of the Annual PSP Camp Cadet Golf Tournament in Reading since 1996, and as coordinator of the Annual Berks County Law Enforcement Fall Classic Golf Tournament for 16 years. A 1976 graduate of Boyertown High, Moyer attended Military Police School in Fort McClellan, Alabama and later completed a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice at Penn State-Berks. Moyer lives locally and has been married to Frances Moyer for the past 26 years.
