Alfred State College Women's Volleyball

Doorley has the Lady Pioneers competing for the postseason year after year. The blue and gold are 308-151 (.671winning percentage) during his tenure. The Lady Pioneers have made back-to-back USCAA National Championships and ECAC Metro/Upstate Championships. The team has made it to the semifinals in each tournament the past years. Over the three years of competition at the four-year level the Pioneers have had six USCAA All-Americans. In the programs last seven years in the NJCAA, Doorley led the Blue and Gold to a 200-71 record (.738 winning percentage). During this run, the Lady Pioneers earned #1 seeds in the Region III Division III Tournament three times, claimed thirteen regular season tournament titles and the Region III Championship in 2007 and 2008, been ranked in the top ten of the NJCAA Division III poll, and ended the colleges 30-year quest for a trip to the National Championship. In 2008, the team set a new program records with 38 victories (38-4) and 4th place finish at Nationals. The team also won the schools first WNYAC championship. Doorley has been named the AVCA Northeast Coach of the Year three times, the NJCAA District A Coach the Year twice, and the Region III Coach of the Year once. Five players were named NJCAA All-American, including Brianne McMahon who was a two-time recipient. Doorley joined the Alfred State staff in 2002 after spending five years as the head coach at Alfred University. During his tenure the Saxons advanced to the State Championship four times, ECAC Championship, and the NCAA Division III Championship. Doorley has collected the most wins in Alfred University History. In his 17 years as a head collegiate volleyball coach he has accumulated 387 wins, an average of over 22 wins per season. Doorley earned an associate degree from Alfred State, a bachelor degree in fitness and health from SUNY Cortland, and a master degree in sport management from Cortland.  He also hold a teaching certificate in physical education from St. Bonaventure and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach. In addition to his coaching duties Doorley is the fitness center director and teaches physical education classes. He lives in Hornell with his wife, Michele, son, Matt and daughter, Tayghan.
