As part of the 2025 season, Kehew and the Saxons recorded the first-ever Empire 8 victory in program history on the road at Houghton University in 6-5 fashion. In the following season, Alfred University registered their first win at the Saxon Hill Sports Complex against Keuka College in walk-off fashion. Prior to AU, Kehew served as the head coach of the baseball program at Medaille University. While at Medaille, Kehew was in charge of training, developing, and recruiting student-athletes to compete at a high level in the Empire 8 conference. Kehew additionally played a role in fundraising and community outreach efforts alongside the program. Before his time with the Mavericks, Kehew spent time as the head coach at Becker College in Leicester, Massachusetts. At Becker, Kehew brought in the largest recruiting class in program history and ensured a perfect team retention rate. Kehew previously spent over four years as the head coach and pitching coach for the Ocean State Waves in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. In 2017, Kehew led the program to the best record in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Kehew additionally had a six-year run with Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, where he served as an assistant for the baseball team and was also the department’s Recruiting Coordinator and Student-Athlete Success Coordinator. While at Salve Regina, the program finished atop the Commonwealth Coast Conference in 2017 and 2018 and won the conference tournament in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, Salve Regina was nationally ranked as high as No. 12 and were ranked No. 1 in the New England region. Kehew coached 11 All-New England honorees, with one player being named as an All-American. The initial coaching stop for Kehew was at Naval Academy Preparatory School from 2016-17. Kehew received his Bachelor’s in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville and later earned his Master’s in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Central Florida. Mike Bassage

Hired at AU: February of 2024 Alma Mater: Pittsburgh '07 Bassage was promoted as an assistant baseball/strength & conditioning coach in September of 2024. Prior to joining AU, Bassage spent time as the modified baseball coach and the assistant varsity coach for his alma mater Hornell High School. He was a three-time Livingston County First Team honoree, three-time Evening Tribune First Team member along with Player of the Year and All-State member in his senior year. Bassage led Hornell to back-to-back State Final Four appearances between 2002-03. Bassage was the recipient of the gold medal for Empire State Baseball Games. Following his graduation at Hornell, Bassage was named as a Hall of Fame member with the class of 2016. Bassage additionally worked as the Pitching Coach for the Dansville Gliders of the NYCBL. During the 2024 season, the team was crowned as the Wester Division Champions. Bassage previously graduated from the University of Pittsburgh following an extensive playing career with the Panthers. As a letterman winner, Bassage put together a successful collegiate career as a relief pitcher. Bassage earned his bachelor’s degree in administrative justice in 2007.
