Mike Towns
Assistant Coach
Towns enters his third season behind the AIC bench for the 2016-17 campaign. The native of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, has a wealth of playing and coaching experience that will aid the Yellow Jackets. Towns began his coaching career at AIC before the 2014-15 season, and his vast responsibilities have included recruiting, video analysis, statistical analysis, working primarily with the forwards and running the Penalty Kill. Towns graduated from Adrian with a bachelors of Business administration in Management, and completed his Masters of Business Administration at AIC in May 2016. Following his successful collegiate career, Towns embarked on a 3 year professional career, making stops with the Denver Cutthroats of the CHL (Colorado Avalanche Affiliate), the Idaho Steelheads (Dallas Stars Affiliate) and Ontario Reign (LA Kings/Winnipeg Jets Affiliate) in the ECHL, and the Knoxville Ice Bears of the SPHL, where he played with current fellow assistant coach Stephen Wiedler.
