Linsey Fernandes
Assistant Coach
Fernandes is in her second season as the assistant coach for AIC field hockey. Fernandes returns to AIC after graduating in 2012 with a degree in biochemistry. She was a four-year starter for the field hockey team and became the program's second NFHCA All-American and is still the only Yellow Jacket to earn All-American accolades three times. Fernandes sandwiched a First-team nod during her junior campaign in 2010 between a pair of Second-team accolades. Fernandes, a native of Canada, was also a three-time Northeast-10 First-team All-conference selection as well as being a member of the All-rookie squad after her freshman season. Fernandes led a ranked team during her junior and senior campaigns where they advanced to the NE-10 Championship Tournament and moved on to the NCAA Tournament. Fernandes spent most of her time in the midfield during her four-year career starting in 74 games scoring nine times and adding 11 assists for 29 points, good for ninth on the all-time scoring list. She also served as team captain during her senior campaign. Since graduating she has continued her passion for the sport as well as beginning her pursuit of becoming a physician's assistant. She even attended the prestigious University of Toronto for a year. With her return to the states Fernandes continues to apply for PA schools in order to fulfill her lifelong dream of practicing in the United States.
