Anderson University Men's Track

Williams enters his second season as Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach at Anderson University.   Upon graduation from Anderson University in 1988, Williams served as assistant cross country/track & field coach until 1996, and also was an assistant coach from 1999-2000.  From 2000-2012, Williams coached cross country at nearby Frankton High School.  During his time at Frankton, he coached the schools first sectional and regional championships for both boys and girls.   In 2013, Williams was an assistant cross country coach at Ball State University.  Along with his coaching duties over the last 10 years, he has been a teacher at several schools in Anderson, and most recently in Frankton.   As an undergraduate at Anderson University, Williams was a three-time All-American in cross country, four-time All-American in indoor track , and two-time All-American in outdoor track.  In both 1987 and 1988, Williams captured the NAIA national championship in the indoor mile.    Williams was also involved in FCA during his years at Anderson, serving as the President of the group during his senior year.  In 2000, Williams was inducted into the AU Athletic Hall of Fame.   In 1991, Williams married his wife Valerie.  She also ran cross country and track at Anderson.  She was a four-time All American and has been inducted into the AU Athletic Hall of Fame.  They are the first husband and wife to be inducted.  They have two sons who plan on attending AU in the fall of 2014.   Nearly thirty years ago, I came to Anderson to be a part of a cross country and track & field team," said Brian Williams.  "While at Anderson University, I found a great deal more than just a place to run.  I found a Christ-centered community that was and still is committed to providing students with a great education and a world of opportunities.  I am proud to be a part of the history at Anderson University and I am humbled by the opportunity to be a part of this community.  It is with a great deal of excitement and anticipation that I look forward to my new role as the head coach for cross country and track & field at Anderson University." 

Heisler is in his second season as Graduate Assistant Coach for the Anderson University Cross Country and Track & Field programs. Heisler is currently a student in AUs MBA program.   Heisler is a 2014 graduate of the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelors of Biological Science Degree. At U of Indy, Heisler was a three-year letter winner on the track & field program, competing in the discus and hammer throws.   Upon graduation from Bloomington High School South in 2008, Heisler attended Ball State University for three years before transferring to Indianapolis. At Ball State, he was the manager for the womens cross country and track & field teams, as well as the assistant mens track & field coach at Burris Laboratory School.

Dias is in his first season as an assistant cross country and track & field coach at Anderson University.   Dias brings a strong athletic background to the AU programs. He graduated high school from the British School of Kuwait in 2011 where he played basketball, volleyball and ran track. He studied three semesters at the University of the Cumberlands, where he participated in basketball and track, before transferring to Indiana Wesleyan on a track scholarship.   Dias graduated from IWU with a degree in Sports Management with emphasis in Coaching and Exercise Science. In 2015, he earned certification from the American Council on Exercise. Dias plans to get his USA Track and Field Level 1 certification in the spring of 2016.
