Awards 6x LSC Coach of the Year (2004, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2017, 2018) Career Record (through 2025 season): 1,019-377-3 (.729 winning percentage) Rambelles head coach Travis Scott enters his 23rd season at the helm of the Angelo State softball program. Under his guidance, Angelo State has averaged 41.7 wins per season, hoisted six NCAA Division II South Central Region trophies, and made six trips to the NCAA DII National Championships, including winning the NCAA National Championship in his first season, 2004, as well as finishing as the national runner-up in 2017. Scott has led ASU to seven LSC Conference Championships and six LSC South Division titles. Scott has coached 33 All-Americans, 67 NFCA All-Region players, and 106 All-Lone Star Conference honorees. In addition, 24 Rambelles have been named Academic All-LSC team under Scott. As a seven-time LSC Coach of the Year, Scott boasts an 918-327-1 record at ASU for a .737 winning percentage. Including his three seasons at Southeastern Oklahoma prior to his arrival in San Angelo, Scott has a career coaching record of 1,019-377-3 and a .729 winning percentage. He currently ranks 13th in NCAA DII in winning percentage among active coaches and fifth in total wins. On March 28th, 2025, Scott won his 1,000th career game with a 4-2 win over UT Permian Basin in Odessa. He is the first coach in LSC history to record a thousand wins in the conference. A native of Ardmore, Okla., Scott brought a winning tradition with him when he arrived at ASU. In his three previous seasons as head coach at Southeastern Oklahoma – his alma mater – Scott claimed three LSC North Division titles. He guided the Lady Savages to the South Central Regional Tournament in 2003. His teams also claimed an LSC championship in 2001 and finished as runners-up to ASU in 2003. Scott’s record at SOSU was 101-50-2, earning LSC North Coach of the Year in 2002. Scott’s coaching legacy took roots when he was the head baseball and softball coach at Lone Grove High School in Lone Grove, Okla. His softball teams posted a cumulative record of 165-62, including four 30-plus-win seasons, five district championships, four regional titles, and two runner-up finishes in the Class 3A OSSAA State Tournament. Seven of his players garnered all-state recognition, and 13 received college athletic scholarships. As a high school baseball coach from 1993-2000, Scott posted a 131-74 record and numerous district championships and regional titles. His 1997 and 1998 teams were Class 4A state semi-finalists. A skilled baseball player, Scott played at Southeastern Oklahoma from 1990-92 and was the starting third baseman on the 1990 team that finished fourth at the NAIA College World Series, where he was named to the all-tournament team and was a Gold Glove recipient. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in health, physical education, recreation, and dance and a master’s in secondary education-health/physical education from Southeastern Oklahoma. He is married to associate head coach Katie Scott and has four children, step-daughter Kenna Dawn Self and sons Mickey Ryan Scott, Gehrig Brooks Scott, and Taten James Scott.

Katie Scott
Associate Head Coach
Katie Scott is in her 19th season as part of the Angelo State Softball program and 13th as associate head coach. While on the ASU coaching staff, the Rambelles have hoisted four NCAA Division II South Central Regional trophies with four trips to the NCAA DII National Championships, including the 2017 team that finished as the National Runner-up. Katie has helped guide ASU to six LSC Conference Championships while working primarily with pitchers and outfielders. Under her guidance as pitching coach, ASU has had five All-American selections, 16 All-Region selections, five LSC Pitchers of the Year, one LSC Newcomer of the Year, and 18 LSC All-Conference pitchers. Katie and head coach Travis Scott was honored as the NFCA Division II South Central Regional Coaching Staff of the Year in 2017 and 2018 after guiding the team to back-to-back National Tournament appearances. She was also a part of the 2009 South Central Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. Katie joined the Rambelles coaching staff before the 2008 season after a standout collegiate playing career at Florida Tech. In four seasons, the former Katie Naumoff posted a .351 career batting average and was a three-time All-Sunshine State Conference pick for the Panthers. During her junior season, she led the Panthers with a .409 batting average and was named first-team All-South Region by the NFCA. Scott was named to the SSC Silver Anniversary Softball Team and selected as one of the top 31 softball players over the Sunshine State Conference’s first 25 years of competition in softball. An excellent student at Florida Tech, Katie was selected to the SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll for three seasons and graduated cum laude. A native of Poland, Ohio, she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida Tech in 2007 and a master’s degree from ASU in 2009. Katie is married to head softball coach Travis Scott, and they welcomed son Taten James Scott in July 2019.
