Anna Maria College Men's Football

Sinagra joined the AMC coaching staff in 2010, and was elevated to head coach in 2012. He brings over 30 years of coaching experience with him, including 16 years at the Division I level with schools such as Stony Brook, Holy Cross, Fordham and Norfolk State. In 2013, Sinagra coached senior Robert Small to an Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Offensive Player of the Year title. In three years at the helm of the program, Sinagra has coached 14 student-athletes to ECFC All-Conference accolades and has placed 22 student-athletes on the league's All-Academic team.   Sinagras 2012 squad produced eight ECFC All-Conference accolades including three members on the first team, an ECAC Player of the Week and BSN Defensive Player and Team of the Week selection. There were two AMCATS recognized on the Senior Class Pre-Season All-American Squad and five players acknowledged by the Worcester Area Football Association. Most notably Tim Ray and Andrew Nevit earned ECFC All-Academic honors. In addition to his coaching duties, Sinagra also serves as Anna Maria's Associate Athletic Director and is responsible for a number of administrative duties, such as scheduling and event management.  As the Defensive Coordinator at Bloomsberg  University, Coach Sinagra led a unit that was ranked number two in the nation among Division II team.  Most recently, he was the Linebackers Coach for a defense at Norfolk State that was ranked fifth nationally. During his coaching career he has had the pleasure of instructing some extremely talented players, including former New York Jets wide receiver Wayne Chrebet. As a player, Sinagra was a standout offensive and defensive tackle at New Utrecht High School in New York receiving numerous honors including being selected to the Schoolboy All-American Team. He earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Rhode Island, where he was a four-year varsity starter at defensive tackle. He was named Team MVP during his senior season and had the opportunity to play against the Air Force All-Stars in the Turkey Bowl held in Frankfurt, Germany. Coach Sinagra graduated from the University of Rhode Island where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and Health, as well as his Masters Degree in Physical Education, Health, and Recreation. He and his wife Elise reside in Worcester. 

Sturgis enters his fifth season pacing the sidelines for the AMCATS in 2016 as the offensive line coach and enters his third season as the offensive coordinator for the team.  In his first season as the offensive coordinator, Sturgis saw junior running back Chris Bettano earn ECFC All-Conference second team honors and All-Worcester Area first team honors. Offensive lineman Kevin Grey was also recognized by the College as the Stephen C. Washkevich Award winner.  Sturgis brings a wealth of experience to the offensive line after an exceptional career at Norwich University. As the starting center Sturgis helped backbone the Cadets to a pair of ECFC Conference Championships in 2009 and 2011. With the championship victory in 2011, the Cadets earned a trip to the NCAA Division III post-season for the first time in the team's 120-year history.] Sturgis was a team co-captain during his senior season and was named the ECFC Offensive Linemen of the Year, as voted on by the conference coaches. Along with the top honor the senior was named team MVP, ECFC 1st Team All-Conference, All-New England and All-East Region 2nd Team. Sturgis received his Bachelor of Science in communications from Norwich University in 2012 and completed his Master's degree in broadcast journalism from Emerson College in 2015.

Angelos enters his third season with the AMCATS in 2015 and will work with the team's tight ends and half backs this season. Prior to coming to Anna Maria, Angelos was on the staff at Braintree High School, where he served as the quarterbacks coach for the varsity team. A 2012 graduate of Norwich University, Angelos earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He was a backup quarterback for five seasons for the Cadets. During his time at Norwich, the Cadets captured the 2009 and 2011 ECFC Championship and earned an 2011 NCAA Division III post-season bid. In 2013 Angelos coached the Wide Receivers and Tight Ends. In 2014 Angelos served as the Quarterbacks Coach.  Angelos is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in criminal justice at Anna Mara College.

Edwards enters his fourth season with the Anna Maria football team in 2015, and begins his second as the defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach for the AMCATS.  Coach Edwards enjoyed a fruitful career at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. A 2011 graduate, Edwards played in the secondary for the Monarchs and was a team captain during his senior season.  A Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Academic All-Conference selection, Edwards received his Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with a double minor in psychology and sociology. He also received the prestigious Player's Award for demonstrating leadership and loyalty in the classroom, on the football field, and to the King's College mission.  Edwards completed his Master's Degree in pastoral ministry at Anna Maria in 2015. 

Koehler '14 is entering his third season on the AMCATS coaching staff and has been elevated to defensive coordinator for the 2016 season.  Koehler was a four-year starter on the AMCATS defense during his playing career. He holds the program's career record for tackles with 342. As a senior, Koehler was named to the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) All-Conference Defensive First Team and the ECAC North All-Star team.  A four-time Worcester All-Star, Koehler totaled 210 solo tackles and ranks second in program history in tackles-for-loss (29.5).  Koehler graduated in 2014 from Anna Maria with a Bachelor of Science in health sciences. He is currently persuing a Master of Education degree at Anna Maria. 

McKenna enters his third season as the Special Teams Coordinator and Running Backs Coach for the AMCATS in 2016. McKenna played for the AMCATS for four seasons and was a member of the team's inaugural 2009 football season. He saw action in 23 games over his career, and recorded 25 all-purpose yards on special teams as a senior.  A 2013 graduate of Anna Maria, McKenna earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice.
