Katie is a 2021 graduate from Asbury University with a degree in social work. Katie was a member of the Asbury cheer team from 2017 to 2021 during her time as a student-athlete at AU. Katie was previously a volunteer assistant coach for the Asbury cheer team but will now lead the team as the head coach. "My coaching mission is for our team to build one another up on and off the court through Christ in all that we do", said Coach Wall.

(Hometown) Wilmore, KY & New Carlisle, OH Honors   2024 Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year (View Story Here) 2024, 2025 Women's Cross Country CCS Champions More: Randy Crist is beginning his 18th year in 2025-26 at the helm of the Asbury men’s and women’s cross country programs and his 42nd overall in coaching. In addition, Crist enters his second season in leadership of the AU men's and women's track and field teams.  In 2025, Crist led Asbury’s women’s cross country team to its second consecutive CCS Championship. Bailey Gassmann and Jesse Gassmann earned CCS Runner of the Year honors, while both the men’s and women’s teams were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams. Seven runners received CCS All-Conference recognition. Crist also guided the men’s team to a first-place finish at the Spoon Fiercely Meet, along with three additional top-three finishes, including third place at the CCS Championships. The women’s team added first-place finishes at the Eagle Opener and the Berea Invitational, along with three second-place finishes. Crist was named the 2024 Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year, after the Eagles took first place in the CCS Championship in Clinton, Miss.  Both AU cross country teams competed in the NCAA DIII Great Lakes Regional and also in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship.  During his time at Asbury, Crist has helped 18 runners qualify for the NAIA National Championship Meet and has had two teams (2024 and 2014 women's squads) win the conference championships.  Prior to Asbury, Crist coached at Anderson County High School from 1980-1995 and at West Jessamine High School from 2000-2010. He has coached three state champions in cross country and 22 individual state champions in track & field, including five in the mile. Crist was named the 1983 Kentucky Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year and earned the Scholastic Coach National High School Coaching Award in 1989. He has been named Regional Coach of the Year 21 times in either cross country or track & field and was inducted into the Kentucky Track & Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1998. Along with his wife Sarahlynn, he has four children and currently resides in Wilmore.

Tyanne Whitworth

Tyanne Whitworth (Volunteer Assistant Coach: 7th Year) Tyanne Whitworth was named Asbury's Volunteer Assistant Cheerleading Coach August 1, 2018. She is an AU graduate and former cheerleader. Her primary responsibilities include leading the team in fitness & strength training, as well as managing the operational aspects of the program. Whitworth has been a certified fitness instructor for several years while building a successful career as a real estate agent. She is married to Mark Whitworth, who serves as Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics at AU.
