Head Coach
Garza added. "We have a great group of players returning and I can't wait to start working with them to continue the success and add to the tradition the women's program has had at Ashford." After joining the men's soccer coaching staff as an assistant under head coach Richard Markham prior to the start of the 2010 season, Garza helped guide the Saints to a 67-19-16 record and three berths in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship including the 2013 Semi-Final finish. Garza currently holds a "B" license from the United States Soccer Federation and has served as the head boys soccer coach at both Prince of Peace High School in Clinton (2010-2012) and DeWitt Central High School in DeWitt, Iowa (2012-present). At Central Garza has led the Sabers to consective Iowa state tournament apperances (2014-15), 2014 being Central's first state tournament apperance in school history. Garza led Central to a State Runner-up title for class 2A in 2015. He was named Wal-Mac Coach of the Year in 2014 and NSCAA Iowa High School State Coach of the year in 2015. Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Garza starred on the field for the Ashford men's soccer team, earning three All-MCC selections, NSCAA All-Region (Mid-West;2009) and helping lead the Saints to their first ever national championship berth in 2009 with a team-high 15 goals. He currently holds a bachelor's degree in Sports and Recreation Management and a Master's Degree in Organizational Management, both from Ashford.
