Head Coach
Eric Rolland (Augsburg '97), an All-American golfer during his playing days at Augsburg, was named as Augsburg's men's and women's golf head coach in January 2014. Augsburg Coaching Experience: 2013-14 Men's Golf: Coached the spring half of the 2013-14 season. Augsburg won the team title in Rolland's first meet as head coach, the Loras (Iowa) Invitational, while placing fifth at its other two spring meets. 2013-14 Women's Golf: Coached the spring half of the 2013-14 season. Augsburg placed third in two of its three spring meets. 2014-15 Men's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 307.5 team stroke average, a 0.6-stroke improvement over the 308.1 average from 2013-14. Augsburg finished sixth at the 2014 MIAC Championships, one of six top-six finishes for the Auggies in their 11 competitions. 2014-15 Women's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 362.8 team stroke average, a 4.5-stroke improvement over its 367.3 average from 2013-14. Augsburg finished 10th at the MIAC Championships. Augsburg had three players record sub-90 stroke averages. 2015-16 Men's Golf: Rolland coached Augsburg to one of its best seasons in school history. The Auggies won the MIAC title for the third time in school history and first time since 1995, qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships for the fourth time in school history. The Auggies finished 26th at the national championships, held in Rochester, Minn. Two Auggies (Brett Gaustad and Brandon Jones) were named to the PING Division III All-Central Region team. Augsburg finished with a 303.2 team stroke average, with five Auggies recording sub-80 stroke averages. Gaustad and Michael Barrette earned All-MIAC honors, and both were also named Golf Coaches Association of America Scholar All-Americans. 2015-16 Women's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 367.2 season stroke average, with two Auggies recording 90-or-better stroke averages. Augsburg finished ninth at the 2015 MIAC Championships. The Auggies had seven team rounds of 360 or better among its 17 on the year. 2016-17 Men's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 302.7 season stroke average. Brett Gaustad had an incredible season, earning MIAC Player of the Year honors, PING Division III All-Central Region, All-MIAC and GCAA Scholar All-American honors. Brett Buckinghamd was also named All-MIAC, and Michael Barrette joined Gaustad on the GCAA Scholar All-America squad. 2016-17 Women's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 399.2 season stroke average. Taylor Salewske led the Auggies with a 91.0 stroke average. 2017-18 Men's Golf: Augsburg finished with a school-record 300.4 team stroke average, winning five events, including the season-opening Augsburg Invitational. Harrison Cooper shot a school-record 65 in the final round to earn medalist honors at the Augsburg Invitational. Brett Buckingham earned MIAC Championships co-medalist hoors, and was named the MIAC's Elite 22 honoree for highest GPA at the men's golf championships. Buckingham and Cooper were named All-MIAC, and Levi Hauser was named MIAC Rookie of the Year. Dakota Krech was named to the GCAA Scholar All-America team. 2017-18 Women's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 396.0 team stroke average, with Isabel Karbo leading the Auggies with a 96.3 individual average. Kaylee Schultz finished in 37th and Karbo finished 38th at the MIAC Championships. 2018-19 Men's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 303.8 team stroke average, and finished in a tie for second place at the MIAC Championships with a school-record 886 total. Brett Buckingham, Harrison Cooper and Dakota Krech earned All-MIAC honors, with Buckingham also earning MIAC Elite 22 and PING All-Central Region honors. Buckingham, Cooper and Krech were named GCAA Scholar All-Americans, and the Auggies earned the GCAA Division III Academic Team National Champion award, with its 3.82 team GPA the highest in the nation. 2018-19 Women's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 374.9 team stroke average, the seventh-best average in school history. First-year Emma Kraft led the Auggies with an 88.4 stroke average, 10th-best in school history. Augsburg finished 10th at the MIAC Championships, with Kraft tying for 33rd and Karina Kafka tying for 37th. 2019-20 Men's Golf: Augsbug finished with a 303.9 team stroke average, playing only the fall half of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Augsburg finished in fourth place at the MIAC Championships, with River Goodmanson earning MIAC Rookie of the Year honors. Goodmanson and Brett Buckingham earned All-MIAC honors, with Buckingham earning PING All-Central Region honors. Buckingham and Cooper were named GCAA Scholar All-Americans, and Buckingham finished his career with the lowest career stroke average in school history (74.88). Buckingham was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American, and was the 15th men's golfer in MIAC recorded history to earn All-MIAC honors all four years of his collegiate career. 2019-20 Women's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 378.1 stroke average, playing only the fall half of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Augsburg finished in 10th place at the MIAC Championships. Emma Kraft shot a final-round 77 -- the third-best single-round score in school history -- to lead the Auggies with a 39th-place MIAC finish. Kraft led the Auggies with an 86.1 season stroke average, the fifth-best season average in program history. Kraft, Olivia Boe, Nicole Zielsdorf and Lilia Lindgren earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors, and the Auggies posted a 3.839 team GPA, second-best among all NCAA Division III women's golf programs nationally. 2020-21 Men's Golf: Playing in just the spring half of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Augsburg finished with a 320.5 team stroke average. First-year Stellan Orvick led the team with a 74.1 stroke average and finished in eighth place at the MIAC Championships. 2020-21 Women's Golf: Augsburg played in just the spring half of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Emma Kraft finished the season with an 86.1 stroke average in nine rounds, finishing in a tie for 29th place in the MIAC Championships with a school-record-tying 54-hole score of 250. 2021-22 Men's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 310.1 team stroke average and claimed fifth place at the MIAC Championships. Stellan Orvick earned All-MIAC honors and held a team-best stroke average of 75.20. 2021-22 Women's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 340.0 team stroke average and claimed seventh place at the MIAC Championships. Emma Kraft was named an All-MIAC honorable mention after leading the team with a season stroke average of 81.0. 2022-23 Men's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 311.1 team stroke average and claimed sixth place at the MIAC Championships. Stellan Orvick earned his third straight All-MIAC honors and held a team-best stroke average of 75.8. 2022-23 Women's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 369.2 team stroke average and claimed 10th place at the MIAC Championships. Avery Sawchuk broke the Augsburg University program record for a 54-hole score with a 242 total at the conference championships. 2023-24 Men's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 303.2 team stroke average and placed fifth at the MIAC Championships. Stellan Orvick and Fritz Belisle each earned All-MIAC honors, finishing the season with stroke averages of 73.7 and 75.6, respectively. 2023-24 Women's Golf: Augsburg finished with a 354.5 team stroke average and placed ninth at the MIAC Championships. Avery Sawchuk led the team with a stroke average of 84.0. Playing Experience: A 1997 Augsburg alumnus and a native of Fridley, Minn., Rolland was a four-year competitor for the Augsburg men's golf team (1993-97). A two-time All-MIAC honoree (third place in 1995, fourth place in 1996), he was a member of Augsburg squads that won the MIAC championship in 1995 and finished second in the conference in 1994 and 1996. During his career, the Auggies earned berths as a team in the NCAA Division III national tournament in 1995, 1996 and 1997. In NCAA competition, Rolland finished 17th in 1995, 35th in 1996 and 34th in 1997, earning All-America third-team honors in 1995. He also earned Golf Coaches Association of America All-District honors in 1997. Rolland most recently served as the director of player development and an assistant professional at Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata, Minn. As a professional, Rolland has won 29 times in the Minnesota Section of the PGA, including three Assistant Championships and five Minnesota PGA major titles. In 2013, he earned Minnesota PGA Section Assistant's Player of the Year honors. Personal/Family Notes: Rolland lives in Rogers, Minn., with his wife Jolene and daughters Ellie and Avery.

Elizabeth Bauer
Head Coach
A former standout women's hockey player at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Elizabeth "Biz" Bauer (UW-Eau Claire '20) joined the Augsburg women's hockey program as its full-time assistant coach ahead of the 2023-24 season, and was named the third head coach in Augsburg women's hockey history ahead of the 2024-25 season. Augsburg Head Coaching Experience Bauer made an immediate impact in her first season as Augsburg's head coach in 2024-25, leading the Auggies to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season and playoff championships, and the team's first-ever berth in the NCAA Division III national tournament, reaching the national semifinals and finishing in a tie for third-place nationally. Inheriting a team that had lost seven players to graduation and had 11 first-year players and two transfers on its 25-player roster for this campaign, with just three seniors, Augsburg finished 25-3-1 overall and 16-2-0 in MIAC play -- both program records. In 2024-25, Bauer was named the CCM Hockey/American Hockey Coaches Association Division III Women's National Coach of the Year and the DIIIHockeyNews.com National Coach of the Year. Prior Coaching Experience Bauer served as the Auggies' full-time assistant coach in 2023-24, as the Auggies finished 19-7-0 overall and 15-3-0 in MIAC play, qualifying for the conference playoffs for the eighth full season in a row. Augsburg's 19 victories were tied for the third-most wins in a single season in school history (against all varsity opponents). The Auggies outscored their opponents by a 78-43 margin in the 2023-24 campaign. As part of her duties, Bauer helped run all hockey operations and was a major part of the Auggies' recruiting efforts, which resulted in a 13-player incoming class for the 2024-25 season, one of the largest women's hockey recruiting classes in team history. Prior to coming to Augsburg, Bauer spent two seasons as girls' hockey director for MAP Hockey, an elite off-season training center for hockey players in the Twin Cities. She also spent a year as a sports performance trainer and facility director at St. Croix Acceleration, a training center in Hudson, Wis. From 2020-2023, she was an assistant coach for the U-16 girls' team for Team Wisconsin Hockey. Playing Experience Bauer played her collegiate hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she helped lead the Blugolds to their first three national tournament berths, two O'Brien Cup Tournament Championships, and one Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship, while posting an overall record of 80-26-9. Scoring 37 career goals and adding 66 assists for 103 total points, Bauer holds the Blugolds' record for assists and ranks second in school history in points. In 2019-20, Bauer was named a team captain and earned a spot on the American Hockey Coaches Association/CCM Hockey Division III All-America Second Team. She earned All-WIAC first-team honors three times and honorable mention honors once, and was an AHCA Division III All-American Scholar in 2019-20. Following her career at UW-Eau Claire, Bauer pursued her dream of playing pro hockey and played in the PWHPA with the Minnesota region "Team Adidas." Prior to college, Bauer played high school hockey for the Central Wisconsin Storm, where her team compiled a 62-17-3 record and earned three trips to the state tournament. In just three seasons and 80 games played, she scored 125 points, including 82 assists (a Storm career record), and is the sixth-leading point scorer in team history. As a junior and senior, she was named a team captain, also earning All-State second-team honors as a senior. Personal Notes Bauer has four siblings, including a twin sister Emily who played with her at UW-Eau Claire. Her brother played hockey at Minnesota-Crookston, and her father has been a high school hockey coach in Wisconsin for more than 30 years. A native of Wausau, Wis., Bauer earned her bachelor's degree with a major in kinesiology and a minor in coaching from UW-Eau Claire in 2020. "I have always known I wanted to be a head coach and am so grateful for this opportunity," Bauer said. "I grew up watching my brother play and watching my dad coach hockey. He is a big reason why I am here, and why I have gone down the coaching path I have. I am so grateful for him and all the support my family has offered. I am looking forward to growing and advancing this program, connecting with the alumnae that have given so much to this program, and building my relationships here at Augsburg." Nicole Neuberger

Nicole Neuberger (UW-Stevens Point '22) joined the Augsburg women's hockey coaching staff in the 2023-24 season as a graduate fellow assistant coach, as she pursues her Master of Arts in Leadership degree at Augsburg. She was promoted to a full-time assistant coach position for the 2024-25 season, after Elizabeth Bauer was named head coach. Neuberger was a four-year veteran of the Wisconsin-Stevens Point women's hockey program as a forward/defender, earning All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first-team honors in both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. Playing in 89 career games, she scored 28 goals with 13 assists for 41 points, including 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points in her senior season. She scored eight power-play goals and had six game-winning goals in her Pointer career. Since graduating from UW-Stevens Point, Neuberger served as a junior varsity head coach for the Minneapolis Girls' combined high school team in 2022-23, and as a coach and evaluator for the Minnesota girls' high school hockey Premier Prep League. A native of Minnetrista, Minn. (Orono HS), Neuberger earned her bachelor's degree in health promotion and wellness from UW-Stevens Point, earning Dean's List honors four semesters. She was named as an American Hockey Coaches Association/Krampade Divisions II-III All-American Scholar in both 2020-21 and 2021-22. At UW-Stevens Point, she also served a strength and conditioning internship in the spring of 2022.

Tyler Veen
Assistant Coach
Tyler Veen (North Dakota '20) joined the Augsburg men's hockey staff as an assistant coach in August 2025. Prior to coming to Augsburg, Veen served two seasons as head coach and general manager for the Rochester (Minn.) Grizzlies junior hockey club. Veen spent four seasons (2021-25) on the staff of the Grizzlies, a team in the North America 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), a Tier III junior hockey league in the USA Hockey amateur system. He served as an assistant coach from 2021-23, then was promoted to head coach and general manager in 2023. The Grizzlies were 63-27-4 in Veen’s two seasons as head coach, reaching the NA3HL West Division finals each season and leading the league in advancements to upper levels of junior hockey. In his four years on the coaching staff, the Grizzlies were 134-42-4, winning the NA3HL championship in 2021-22. Prior to joining the Grizzlies, Veen served as a regional volunteer scout for the Fargo (N.D.) Force of the Tier I United States Hockey League (USHL) and as a scout and assistant coach for the Austin (Minn.) Bruins of the Tier II North American Hockey League (NAHL.) He also served as a youth hockey coach in East Grand Forks, Minn., for four years. A native of Harwood, N.D., Veen played hockey from a young age through high school. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management (athletic coaching minor) from the University of North Dakota in 2020. He also holds a certificate in hockey general management and scouting from Sports Management Worldwide.
