Trinity Medina
Head Coach
Trinity Medina is in her third season as a member of the Ave Maria University softball staff. She was named the program's head coach of July of 2025. Medina came to AMU after one season at Benedictine College, where she served as a graduate assistant for the 2023 season. Medina has also served as a coach in several travel organizations, including Illinois Storm Elite and Dennison Silverhawks Softball Association. Medina played three seasons at Indiana Wesleyan University, playing 74 games over three seasons for the Wildcats. Trinity started her collegiate career at 2B and batting 2nd as a switch hitter and slapper for the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats. As a freshman she played in a total of 60 games and started in 59 of them. She ended her first season with a .341 batting average, 43 stolen bases with a 3rd place leaderboard finish for the program, and an OBP of .500. After her freshman year she spent the rest of her college career as a starter in centerfield and left field and moving through the line up as a power hitter and slapper. She finished her career with 7 home runs, a .338 batting average, 83 stolen bases, and over 50 put outs between CF and LF. During her years at IWU, she had 2 Crossroads Regular Season Champion titles, 1 Crossroads Tournament Champion title, 4 NAIA Opening Round Appearances, and finishing 5th in the Nation at the NAIA 2022 World Series. She brings a broad knowledge of the game with fielding experience at every position and between the batter's box with a focus on speed and IQ. Her passion and enthusiasm for growth motivates athletes to be their best. She earned her degree from IWU in business administration with a double major in sports management, and is pursuing a Master's of Business Adminstration from Ave Maria.

Giordan Harris
Head Coach
Ave Maria University hired two-time Olympian Giordan Harris as the new head coach of the Gyrene swimming program in March 2023. Harris coached Ave Maria during the 2023-24 season, and is now in his third season. In Harris' first season at Ave Maria, the Olympian guided five Gyrenes to the NAIA National Championships, with one - Gabby Darakchieva - becoming AMU's first-ever swimming All-American. In his second season, Harris was named the Sun Conference Women's Swimming Coach of the Year at the conference championships. He coached Darakchieva to the first ever first place finish in a conference championship in program history. Harris and the Gyrenes took home bronze as well in the men's 4x200 freestyle relay. At the national level, Harris led four Gyrenes to NAIA National Championships. Harris came to Ave Maria not only as an accomplished swimmer, but as a successful coach at both the NCAA and junior college levels. Most recently, Harris was the head coach at Iowa Lakes Community College. During his last season in Estherville, Harris coached the program’s first-ever national champion on the women’s team in two different events, while coaching an NJCAA silver medalist and two NJCAA Bronze Medalists. He also led the Lakers' men's team to a top-five finish in the junior college national championships. His Iowa Lakes swimmers broke 26 school records, across 16 different events. The swimmers also excelled in the classroom, as six different Iowa Lakes swimmers were named NJCAA Academic All-Americans at the 2022 NJCAA National Championships, and 10 different swimmers were named NJCAA Academic All-Americans at the 2023 NJCAA Championship. Before taking over the program at Iowa Lakes, Harris was the acting head coach at NCAA Division I Saint Louis University. During the 2020-21 season, the Billikens set two school records, and one swimmer earned a bronze medal at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships. He also spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Maryville University in Saint Louis, helping his alma mater to some of its best seasons in school history, and worked during the 2015-16 season as an assistant coach at Lincoln College. Before entering the coaching world, Harris was an accomplished swimmer, both at the collegiate and international levels. Harris swam at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, where he represented his home nation of the Marshall Islands. Harris was a sprinter during his competitive days, with both of his Olympic appearances coming in the 50-meter freestyle. Collegiately, Harris was a junior college All-American at Iowa Lakes, earning two podium finishes. He also was a conference finalist and a team captain at Maryville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Cyber Security with a minor in Business Administration.

Tiara Towe
Assistant Coach
Tiara Towe joined Ave Maria Softball as an assistant coach for the 2026 season. Before arriving at the collegiate level, she spent five years coaching competitive travel softball, developing athletes who went on to succeed at the high school and college levels. Known for her energy, technical instruction, and emphasis on player development as well as specializing in the development with pitchers and catchers. Coach Towe brings a passion for building strong fundamentals, fostering confidence, and creating a competitive, team-family based culture.

Josh Harriott
Assistant Coach
Josh Harriott is in his fourth year as an assistant coach of the Ave Maria University swim teams. In the pool, Harriott was a four-year contributor for perrenial powerhouse Keiser University. Swimming for the Seahawks from 2016-2020, Harriott was a two-time Sun Coast Swimming Conference champion in the 1650 free, and qualified for the national championships in each of his four years on campus. He was a team captain at Keiser in 2019-20, and earned CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors. As a coach, Harriott began his career as an assistant with the prestigious Swim Florida club program. Coaching some of the program's younger swimmers, Harriott guided Swim Florida's athletes to state championship competition. He also was an assistant coach for the swim program at Southwest Florida Christian Academy. In his first season there, he sent four King's to regional competition, as well as one to the FHSAA State Championships. Harriott, who also attended SFCA, is a native of Fort Myers.
