Judy Blinstrub
Head Coach
Blinstrub, who also serves as Babson's Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Women's Administrator, coached both the basketball and soccer programs to regional prominence before stepping down from soccer prior to the 2005 season. Having collected her 500th victory in basketball in 2011-12, she is currently the only coach in the history of Division III women's sports with 500 wins in hoops and 200 wins in soccer. On the hardwood, Blinstrub has posted a magnificent 581-288 (.669) record over 32 seasons. During her tenure, Babson has made nine appearances in the NCAA Tournament, including trips to the Sweet 16 in 1993 and 1994, regional trips in 1999, 2009, and 2012, and back-to-back appearances in the Elite 8 in 2010 and 2011. In addition, Babson won the 1986 MAIAW State Championship and captured conference titles in 1991, 1993, 1999, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. The Beavers have also appeared in the ECAC Tournament eight times, including a trip in 2005. Blinstrub was named conference Coach of the Year in 1990, 1993, 2005, 2009, 2010, and 2011, and she won District I and New England Coach of the Year honors following both the 1993 and 2011 seasons. She also was inducted into the Babson Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011 after guiding the Beavers to a magnificent 30-1 record - including 30 straight wins - before finally suffering their only defeat in the national quarterfinals. A native of Newton, Mass., Blinstrub came to Babson in 1984 after serving as coach and athletics director at Mount Alvernia and Brimmer and May School in Newton. Kate Barnosky
Head Coach
Kate Barnosky is now in her third season as head women's basketball coach at Babson College in 2025-26. Barnosky guided the Beavers to a 15-13 record in her first season, culminating with an appearance in the team's third consecutive NEWMAC Tournament championship game. She guided the squad to a 16-10 mark in 2024-25 and a return trip to the NEWMAC Tournament. A rising star in the coaching industry, Barnosky came to Babson in 2023 following two seasons at the University of Wisconsin. She was promoted to associate head coach in April 2022 and helped the Badgers to their most Big Ten victories since 2010-11 and their highest finish in the conference standings in more than a decade. Barnosky helped mentor Julie Pospíšilovà, who earned a pair of All-Big Ten honorable mention accolades and became the 28th player in school history to surpass 1,000 points, while helping Wisconsin post a three-win improvement from the 2021-22 campaign and the program's third most victories going back to 2011. Prior to Wisconsin, Barnosky spent three years as an assistant coach at Boston University from 2018-21. She helped the Terriers finish second in the conference standings in both 2019-20 and 2020-21 in addition to helping the program advance to its first Patriot League Tournament final in 2021. No stranger to Division III, Barnosky enjoyed success as both a player and an assistant coach at nearby Tufts University while earning her undergraduate degree in child development in 2012 and a master's degree in applied child development in 2014. A three-time captain, she helped the Jumbos make four NCAA Tournament appearances while advancing to the Sweet 16 in both 2012 and 2013. As an assistant coach from 2013-18, Barnosky helped Tufts win a pair of New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) championships while making five appearances in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals and reaching the Division III Final Four in four consecutive seasons from 2014-17. The Jumbos reached the national championship game in both 2016 and 2017 and won a school-record 30 games three times during her tenure as an assistant coach under Carla Berube. Kaylin Reen
Assistant Coach
Kaylin Reen is in her second season as assistant women's basketball coach at Babson College in 2025-26. She helped the Beavers to a 16-10 record in her first season and a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament first-roun home game. Reen came to Babson after spending one season as an assistant women's basketball coach at Johnson & Wales University. She was responsible for scouting and film breakdown, helping plan practices and workouts, recruiting and monitoring academics for the Wildcats. Reen also served as the manager of intramural and club sports at Johnson & Wales and was responsible for scheduling, supervising and coordinating all intramural programming. She also oversaw scheduling for club sports and was charged with managing multiple social media accounts. A four-year member of the women's basketball team at Roger Williams University, Reen graduated in 2022 with a bachelor of science degree in math and secondary education. She appeared 45 games over three seasons and served as team captain during her senior campaign as the Hawks won a school record 25 games and captured CCC regular season and tournament championships on the way to making the program's third NCAA Tournament appearance. Reen, who is a native of Norwood, Mass., got her start in coaching as the girls' varsity head coach at Highlander High School in Warren, R.I., in 2022-23. In addition to her college and high school experience, Reen currently serves as the co-director of the BNL Elite Girls AAU program.
