Nellie Pineault

Head Coach

Pineault enters her seventh season as the head coach of the women's soccer program in 2016 sporting a career mark of 67-33-19. Since coming to the College as an administrative assistant in the summer of 1999, Pineault has served in a variety of roles, including Coordinator of Student and Community Services and Coordinator of Compliance and Special Events. Foremost among her duties has been the role of assistant soccer coach, which she held from 2004 to 2009. During that span, the team posted a stellar record of 60-38-19. In her first season at the helm of the soccer program, Pineault guided the Beavers to an 11-7-2 record, a second-place finish in the NEWMAC regular-season standings, and their first trip to the conference tournament championship game since 2007. It was Babsons best regular season finish since 1997 and only the second appearance in the title game since 1998. She then led the team to a fantastic 11-5-2 campaign in 2011 and a total of 19 victories and back-to-back trips to the conference semifinals in 2012 and 2013. After winning 12 games in 2014, Pineault led the Green and White to 14 victories in 2014, its most since 2001, its first trip to the NEWMAC Tournament final since 2010 and the program's first NCAA Tournament berth last fall.  A 1999 graduate of St. Michael's College, Pineault earned her MBA from Babson in 2003. Her twin sister Christine attended Babson as an undergraduate, playing both basketball and soccer.

Nellie Pineault is in her 16th season as the head women’s soccer coach at Babson in 2025. Prior to posting an 8-7-5 record in 2024, Babson registered two of its most successful seasons under Pineault in 2022 and 2023. The Beavers captured a program-record eight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) victories (8-1-2) in 2023, the most in her tenure, advanced to the NEWMAC Championship match for the first time in eight years, and earned an NCAA Division III Tournament berth for the second time in program history and first since 2015. The success in 2023 came on the heels of an outstanding campaign in 2022, when the Beavers matched the 2015 squad with 14 wins, the most under Pineault, and captured seven NEWMAC victories (7-2-1), at the time the most in her tenure. Babson also earned its first All-American since 1992 and 1993 when Morgan Fedosiewicz '23 was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America first team. After serving as an assistant coach for the Beavers from 2004-09, Pineault became just the fifth head coach in program history prior to the 2010 campaign. The Green and White have finished at .500 or better in 14 of her 15 seasons, and she has led the program to 10 or more victories on seven occasions in the way to a 144-89-44 overall record (.599 winning percentage). Pineault led Babson to an 11-7-2 mark and a spot in the NEWMAC Tournament final in her first season at the helm in 2010. The Beavers advanced to the conference semifinals in three consecutive years between 2012-14, and had a historic 2015 campaign, going 14-4-5 on the way to advancing to the conference tournament final and earning the first NCAA Tournament berth in program history. Pineault guided the Beavers to seven consecutive shutouts to end the 2021 campaign, establishing a program record of 758 scoreless minutes that surpassed the 2008 squad, which went 712 minutes between goals allowed. The Beavers squad earned national recognition in 2022 after appearing in the United Soccer Coaches Division III poll, reaching as high as 10th for two weeks in September. In addition to leading the Green and White to three NEWMAC Tournament final appearances, Pineault's teams have advanced to the league semifinals 11 times in 14 seasons. The Beavers also have recorded 10 top-four finishes in the league standings under Pineault, who recorded the 100th win of her career in November 2019 as the Beavers defeated Mount Holyoke, 5-0.  A 1999 graduate of Saint Michael’s College, Pineault has coached one All-American, 47 all-conference selections and has seen her players earn 23 United Soccer Coaches and NEWISA All-New England honors since 2010. Pineault, who earned her MBA from Babson in 2003, helped the Green and White go 60-38-19 with one NEWMAC Tournament finals appearance in six years as an assistant coach. Additionally, her twin sister Christine played soccer and basketball as an undergraduate at Babson.                Season Overall Conference Highlights 2010 11-7-2 6-2-1 NEWMAC Tournament Finalist 2011 11-5-2 6-2-1 NEWMAC Tournament 2012 9-9-2 5-3-1 NEWMAC Tournament 2013 10-4-5 4-3-3 NEWMAC Tournament 2014 12-4-3 6-2-2 NEWMAC Tournament 2015 14-4-5 5-1-4 NCAA Tournament, NEWMAC Tournament Finalist 2016 9-6-3 6-3-1 NEWMAC Tournament 2017 9-8-3 5-2-3 NEWMAC Tournament 2018 7-10-2 4-6-0 NEWMAC Tournament 2019 9-9-3 4-4-2 NEWMAC Tournament 2020 canceled canceled ----- 2021 9-5-5 5-2-3 NEWMAC Tournament 2022 14-4-1 7-2-1 NEWMAC Tournament 2023 12-7-3 8-1-2 NCAA Tournament, NEWMAC Tournament Finalist 2024 8-7-5 5-3-3 NEWMAC Tournament Totals 144-89-44 83-38-27 15 seasons
