Eric Neely

Head Coach

Neely has led the program to unprecedented success over the last five years. Neely guided the Beavers to their first NEWMAC regular season and tournament titles, a single-season record 15-match winning streak and the program's first NCAA Tournament berth in 2014. Babson continued its success last fall by winning its second consecutive conference tournament championship, reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament and setting a new school record with 28 victories.  After leading the Green and White to a 17-13 mark in his first season in 2011, Neely guided Babson to a 22-8 record while winning coach of the year honors in 2012. The Beavers went 18-12 in 2013, including a 7-3 mark in league play and the program's first home conference tournament match since 1993.  Neely, who received NEWMAC Coach of the Year honors, led Babson to a historic 2014 campaign that included a share of the NEWMAC regular-season title, a NEWMAC Tournament championship and the first NCAA Tournament berth in program history. The Beavers set a new program record with 27 victories, which included a school-record 15-match winning streak, and their first NCAA Tournament triumph.  Neely came to Babson after a brilliant six-year career as head volleyball coach at Ursuline Academy in nearby Dedham. During his tenure, Ursuline went 94-40 and won four South sectional Championships. Neely was named Boston Globe Coach of the Year in 2008 after leading the program to a 20-2 mark and one of its two league titles under his guidance.   An avid volleyball player and teacher, Neely also served as a coach for Smash Volleyball's Junior Olympic teams since late 2006, and he coached the Women's club team at Northeastern University in the spring of 2011. He also worked as an eighth-grade social studies teacher at Ahern Middle School for the two years and an assistant boys basketball coach at Foxborough High School for four years.   A native of Easton, Massachusetts, Neely graduated from the University of Rochester in 1998 and later earned his law degree from the University of Georgia Law School in 2003. In addition to his coaching duties, Neely oversees Babson's highly popular club sports, which include men's and women's rugby, cheerleading, and men's and women's ice hockey. View: | Desktop
