Jay Harris

Head Coach

Jay Harris joined the women's soccer program in the spring of 2024 after spending six seasons leading the South Carolina-Beaufort Sand Sharks. He enters the 2025 season with a 70-51-8 mark in seven years as a head coach. In his first season in The Shores, Harris led the Bucs to an 8-7-2 record, 3-5-2 in the Sunshine State Conference. The Bucs finished eighth in the SSC, advancing to the conference tournament, where they took top-seeded Florida Tech to double overtime in the quarterfinals. Senior forward Alia Jaidi, who led the conference in goals, wasn named First-Team All-SSC, while freshman keeper Fernanda Mayrink was named Third-Team. Jaidi went on to receive Second-Team All-Region honors and she, fellow seniors Ashley Finn and Madeline Willenborg along with sophomore Katelyn Billoch were named Academic All-District. Harris led the Sand Sharks to a 62-44-6 record as they transitioned from the NAIA Sun Conference into the NCAA Division II Peachbelt Conference. The Sharks posted program-best records in three of his last four years, with four straight 10+ win seasons. In 2023, Harris led the women's soccer team to its best record in program history going 13-4-2, including a perfect 10-0 at home. Along with his playing career, he coached semi-professional soccer in California, where he recently won the United Women's Soccer League in 2016 with the Santa Clarita Blue Heat. While coaching with the Blue Heat, he led them to back-to-back Western Conference titles and the national runner-up in 2017. United Women’s Soccer (UWS) is a national pro-am league composed of professionally operated clubs within the United States and Canada. UWS provides high level competition for college players, aspiring and former professionals, and international stars. UWS is the second-highest league for women's soccer in the US. Harris has made stops at several top colleges as an assistant coach, including Catawba and Webber International. He also spent several years working overseas in Thailand, Norway and Hungary. He holds his United Soccer Coaches' Premiere diploma, United States Soccer Federation C License and is studying for his CSCS to become a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Harris earned his bachelor's from Tusculum in business management in 2005 and his master’s in exercise science from Concordia-Irvine in 2018.

I am originally from Brazil. I came to the US on a full ride to play college soccer at Union College in KY. Graduated with double major in Business Administration and Physical Education. After my graduation I went overseas to play professional soccer. I played a year in Japan, England, and Trinidad and Tobago. After that I went back to Union to get my Masters in Education and Health. I was there for the past 10 years as the head coach. I was offered the women's soccer assistant coach position at Barry University in Miami, FL last year.  I have the B License with the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF). I plan on getting the A License next year.

Gonzalo Rudolf

Assistant Coach

Gonzalo Rudolf joined the men's soccer staff as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2020. He comes back to Barry after spending last season as the head women's coach at nearby Florida National, leading the Conquistadors to a 3-8-1 record. Originally from Argentina, Rudolf spent five seasons as a part-time assistant coach for the Buccaneers before making the move to FNU. Rudolf joined the Buccaneer staff in the spring of 2020 and helped lead Barry to a successful run in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). Under head coach Petsa Ivanovic, Rudolf and Barry won the SSC regular season men's championships in back-to-back seasons (2022 and 2023), made a national Final Four appearance in 2022 and won the SSC Tournament in 2023. In 2023, Rudolf was honored as a member of The Sunshine State Conference Coaching Staff of the Year. Rudolf was instrumental in Barry going 38-30-6 on the pitch with a conference record of 23-12-3 over its past five seasons. Along with his NCAA D-Il resume, Rudolf worked as the head of team coordination and coach for Paris Saint-Germain Academy (2022-2025), Miami Shores Soccer Club (2021) and Cyclone Soccer Hollywood (2017-2021). Rudolf served as the head coach of the United Soccer League (USL)'s FC Miami City women's soccer team and as an assistant coach in the organization from 2022 to 2025. He has also served as the head soccer coach, keeper trainer and community manager for Cyclones Soccer Hollywood. As the head coach, he is responsible for making and administering the schedule, developing core soccer strategies through training sessions and recruiting players to the club. As community manager, he oversees the social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing priorities. He creates content and engages with supporters through the channels. Notably, the 2021 season saw Rudolf become a district champion with Avant Garde Academy while managing the school's middle school squad. Rudolf was a talented soccer player in his own right, playing collegiately at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala., in 2017 before transferring to Johnson & Wales University in Miami for three seasons. He later suited up for Miami, A.C. in the NPSL. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sports, Events and Entertainment Management from JWU in 2020.
