David Schenek
Head Coach
Schenek was awarded the NJCAA Coach of the Meet in guiding the Cougars to the mens indoor championship with the womens squad earning third place. The teams also went on to finish 3rd and 6th respectively in the outdoor championships. Overseeing the complete Barton Track & Field and Cross Country programs, Schenek primarily works with the throwers and jumpers, coaching 6-time National Champion Jasmine Simmons in the horizontal jumps, 5-time national champion Maximilano Alonso, and 2-time national champion Marcela Solano in the throws. Throughout his tenure at Barton, Schenek has coached a total of 8 athletes to 19 individual National Championship performances. Coach Schenek has had a total of 95 NJCAA All-American performances from 31 different athletes. He has coached athletes at the USATF National Championships, the South American Championships in Lima, Peru and the Ibero-American Championships in San Fernando, Spain. Max Alonso also became the National Record holder for Chile in the discus under Scheneks guidance. Prior to Barton, Schenek coached at Western Carolina for a year and Georgia Southern for two years, coaching a Southern Conference champion and regional qualifier as well as 7 athletes to 15 All-Southern Conference awards in 3 years. Schenek is a USATF Level II certified Throws and Jumps Coach. Before entering the coaching ranks, Schenek threw for two years at Clemson University and was a member of two Atlantic Coast Conference championship teams. He also competed at the University of Georgia, qualifying for the regionals in both the hammer and discus in 2003 and 2004. Schenek and his wife Sarah have two children, Catalina and Marilyn.

Tony Davis
Assistant Coach
Davis returns to Barton where he will primarily lead the sprint and hurdle events. Arriving to Barton following a two-year stint as assistant coach at Allen Community College, Davis coached two NJCAA Division I National Champions and multiple NJCAA All-Americans. A graduate of Hallandale High School in Hallandale Beach, Florida, Davis was a 300m Hurdle State Champion and member of his teams 2006 state championship. Continuing his athletic career at Barton, Davis was a member of the Cougars 2009 & 2010 Region VI Championship teams, as well as, the 2010 NJCAA Division I Indoor National Championship team. Returning home after earning his Associates Degree at Barton 2010, Davis helped coach athletes at his former high school including helping two athletes sign with NCAA Division I University of Alabama. In addition to coaching, Davis developed his mentoring skills helping more than a dozen at-risk teenagers achieve a successful path in life. Prior to his stint at Allen Community College, Davis became a certified Police Officer in Miami, Florida, and is currently finishing up his Bachelor's Degree.
