Brun guided the program to the 2016 Women's Heart Indoor Track Championship and top three finishes for both women's and men's programs at the 2016 Heart Outdoor Championship. For his efforts, Coach Brun was also named the Heart Women's Coach of the Year for the indoor season. In his first season the program earned 11 Indoor and 14 Outdoor championships while earning eight Indoor NAIA qualifiers and two Outdoor qualifiers. Nine Indoor records and seven Outdoor records were also broken in the first season under Coach Brun. The program also earned six Indoor NAIA All-America and one Outdoor NAIA All-America selections while earning the NAIA National Championship in the Women's 4x800 meter relay. Brun came to Benedictine from Adrian College, a NCAA Div. III school in Adrian, Mich. He served as the Associate Head Track & Field Coach as well as the recruiting coordinator at Adrian.  While at Adrian, Brun was responsible for coaching sprints, jumps and hurdles and also planned daily practices, strength & conditioning programs while also coordinating team academic progress, an alumni/family support program, fundraising efforts and community service projects. Brun was a NCAA Div. III All-American at Alma College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Before he became a standout on the track for Alma, Brun served as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force from 2005 to 2010. Brun currently has a USA Track & Field Level 1 Certification and a USTFCCCA Track & Field Technical Certification. The 2015 cross country season is Coach Lanes 17th year as head mens and womens cross country coach at Benedictine College, as well as the assistant coach in track and field for events of 800 meters and up. Through the 2014 cross country season, he has coached Raven cross country athletes to 45 All-Conference honors.  Raven cross country runners have made 27 appearances at the NAIA National Championships.  Coach Of The Year honors were earned by Coach Lane for the NAIA Region V Women in 2003; Heart Of America Athletic Conference Men in 2006;  Heart Women in 2009; and Heart Women in 2014.  The women's team was the 2014 conference champion.  In the distance events for indoor and outdoor track through the 2015 season, Coach Lanes runners have earned 217 1st, 2nd and 3rd place conference medals, plus an additional 193 conference honorable mention honors for placing 4th through 6th.  Raven distance runners have appeared 39 times at the NAIA National Championships in indoor and outdoor track.  He has been the event coach for 12 NAIA All-America distance runners in indoor and outdoor track in individual and relay races.  In 2015, the women's 4 x 800 relay team placed 2nd at the NAIA Indoor National Championships  From 2004 to 2008, Coach Lane was Benedictine Colleges head mens and womens track coach, and during that time, an additional 37 1st, 2nd and 3rd place conference medals and 86 conference honorable mention honors were won in non-distance events, to include six individual conference champions.  Twelve non-distance athletes competed at the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships during that time. The womens cross country team has earned NAIA Scholar Team recognition every year from 2008- after that award was amended by the governing body-  through 2015.  The men have also been named NAIA Scholar teams 2011 through 2015.  28 cross country runners have been recognized as NAIA Scholar Athletes.  Coach Lane competed inter-collegiately at Pittsburg State (Kansas) before transferring to and graduating from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism.  He then went on to a career in law enforcement, with two years at the Shawnee County, Kansas Sheriffs Department and ten years with the Lawrence, Kansas Police Department.  He was awarded the Departments Meritorious Service Medal for an incident that resulted in his retirement.  During his competitive career, Coach Lane competed in events ranging from the 800 meters to the marathon.  Running the marathon in the United States Track and Field Federation Championships, he placed 17th in 1976; 11th in 1978 and 13th in 1979.  He placed 4th at the 1985 World Police and Fire Games at San Diego, Ca. in the 1500 meters.  He also competed at the 1996 Boston Marathon.     Coach Lane earned his USA Track and Field Level 1 and Level II coaching certificates in 2004 and 2005. Coach Lane is a lawyer in private practice in Atchison, Kansas.
