Glen Butler
Head Coach
Glen is entering his first season with the Redhawks. Prior to Benedictine, Butler coached at McKendree University, working with both the Women’s and Men’s Teams. He was the lead assistant for the women, guiding them to their first unbeaten season and highest national ranking, and worked predominantly with goalkeepers for the men. Prior to that, he created and led the inaugural women’s soccer program at West Virginia State to a winning season. He also served as a Graduate Assistant at Frostburg University for both the women’s and men’s programs. In youth soccer, Butler has held various roles, including Academy Director for RSL West Valley. He has coached in many countries and won several state championships in the US. Originally from Barnehurst, England, Butler earned an undergraduate degree in Physical Education & Sport Science from Canterbury Christchurch University. He holds multiple master’s degrees: one in Business Marketing from McKendree University, one in Sports Studies from West Virginia State University, and one in Education from Frostburg State University. Additionally, he has a UEFA B License, FA Goalkeeping credentials, and various other coaching certifications.

Mike Duhaney
Assistant Coach
Mike Duhaney played [college soccer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_soccer) at the [University of Nevada, Las Vegas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Nevada,_Las_Vegas) from 1992 to 1994, where he was named first-team All-Conference in 1994.[[1]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Duhaney#cite_note-1) Upon graduating in 1994, he spent all of 1995 training full-time with the U.S. U-23 Olympic team. He also played four games for the U.S. team at the [1995 Pan American Games](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995_Pan_American_Games). Duhaney was selected eighty-seventh overall in the [1996 MLS Inaugural Player Draft](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_MLS_Inaugural_Player_Draft) by the [Tampa Bay Mutiny](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tampa_Bay_Mutiny). He lost the entire 1996 season due to a knee injury. In 1997, he seized the Mutiny's left back position and started twenty-five games, earning MLS Rookie of the Year.[[2]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Duhaney#cite_note-2) In June 1998, Duhaney was traded midway into the next season to the [MetroStars](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MetroStars) in exchange for [Paul Dougherty](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Dougherty) after the MetroStars backline was decimated by injuries. Although he saw a good deal of playing time with the Metros, he never settled in. On January 28, 2000, was traded to the [Columbus Crew](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbus_Crew) in exchange for [Thomas Dooley](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Dooley). Duhaney stayed in Columbus for two years, starting thirty-nine games for the team, but decided not to return after the 2001 season. In 2002, Duhaney signed with German second division team [1. Doug Pepper
Assistant Coach
A native of Indianola, Iowa, Doug Pepper graduated from Central College in Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Business and has built a strong foundation in both collegiate and club soccer coaching. He currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the Benedictine University Mesa women’s soccer program, a role he began in August 2025, while also working as a Goalkeeper Coach with RSL West Valley since March 2025. Prior to these positions, Pepper spent more than four years as an Assistant Coach with the Central College men’s soccer program from January 2021 to March 2025 and led Iowa Rush South as the Boys U17/U19 Head Coach from August 2023 through March 2025. A former standout goalkeeper, he earned two Honorable All-Conference selections and brings a strong player-development mindset and goalkeeper-specific expertise to every program he serves.

Experience coaching with various youth soccer clubs in Arizona as well as serving as an assistant coach with UPSL Sporting AZ and Phoenix Lights. Head Coach for the U-20 and Assistant Coach for the U-17 AMF Futsal US World Cup teams.

Jason Hammonds
Assistant Coach
Jason Hammonds, originally from Morgan Hill, California, has an extensive background in soccer coaching, bolstered by a series of advanced certifications and diplomas. His education includes a variety of credentials from United Soccer Coaches, such as Advanced Technical Training (2020), Performance Analysis Level 2 (2021), and the prestigious Director of Coaching Diploma (2019). He has also earned several diplomas in specific areas like Small Sided Games (2017), Goalkeeper Coaching (2016, 2019), and Systems of Play (2019). Furthermore, Jason holds a National "B" License (2021) from the United States Soccer Federation, alongside other certifications including the National "C" (2017) and "D" Licenses (2015). In his coaching career, Jason has been the Varsity Girls Head Coach at Casteel High School since 2015, where he has led the team to multiple state championships, including 5A State titles in 2019-2020 and 2021-2022, as well as a 3A State Championship in 2017-2018. His success has earned him numerous accolades, such as the United Soccer Coaches Large School Coach of the Year (2020-2021) and multiple All Conference and Region Coach of the Year awards. In addition to his high school coaching, Jason is currently a Girls’ Team Head Coach and the Grassroots and Recreational Program Director at Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club, where he also serves as the Girls’ E64 RL Director and a WPSL Assistant Coach. He has previously coached at Arizona Soccer Club and Gilbert Youth Soccer Association.
