Berea College Men's Track

Johnson has coached track, cross country and occasionally swimming for the past 34 years at Berea College.  During that time, Coach Johnson has coached 31 All-American and Academic All-Americans, one National Champion and many top finishers in the National Championships. After serving as the head men's track coach for 29 years, he recently stepped out of that role and became the assistant in charge of distance running and throws.  Mike still serves as the head coach for the men's and women's cross country teams, who are usually well represented annually in the NAIA National Championships.  Known for creating very positive relationships amongst his teams, Coach has seen his student-athletes re-write the records boards over the last third of a century.  Coach Johnson has been named Coach of the Year 43 times during his illustrious career and is in the KHSAA Track and Field and Cross Country Coaching Hall of Fame.

Bryant participated in Football, Wrestling, Boxing, Volleyball, Fast Pitch Softball, and Powerlifting.  Dan coached Football, Volleyball and Powerlifting at both the Base and Command levels.  He also coached high school and middle school Football, Cross Country and Track and Field.  Prior to beginning his coaching career at Berea College, Bryant served as the Head Track & Field Coach and Head Cross Country Coach for Madison Southern High School (Berea, KY). Coach Bryant has earned degrees in Electronic Systems Management, Law Enforcement, History and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration.   He and his wife, Elizabeth "Dixie" Bryant, have been married for 32 years and have three adult children and three grandchildren.
