Bethany College (WV) Women's Basketball

Bio Mikayla Lopez joined the Bison staff as the head coach in July of 2022.  In her first season, she led the Bison to the PAC Tournament, before falling to PAC Champions Saint Vincent in the PAC Quarterfinal Round.  In her second season, she led the Bison one step closer to a championship before falling to Chatham in the semi-finals of the PAC Tournament. Lopez coaches one of the most prolific shooters in Bethany history. In 2023-24, Lindsey Garrison ranked first in the PAC and ninth in the NCAA Division III with 78 made three-pointers, and her 2.89 made three-pointers per game ranks first in the PAC and 12th in the NCAA Division III. Both stats are Bethany College single season records. All-PAC First Team: 2023-24 Lindsey Garrison All-PAC Honorable Mention (3): 2023-24 Makenzee Mason; 2022-23: Makenzee Mason, Ashleigh Wheeler Served as an assistant coach at Buena Vista University  Prior to BVU, Lopez was an assistant women's basketball coach at Aurora University for two seasons. During her time with Aurora University, Lopez assisted the Spartans in establishing two school records in most points scored in a game (112) and most three-pointers made in a game (18). While coaching at Aurora, her program ranked eighth in the NCAA DIII last season in points per game (80.0 ppg). Lopez began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Mountain Vista High School in Highlands, Colo. In addition to her recent coaching roles, Lopez has also served as head coach for the M14 Hoops Basketball Academy in Aurora, Il. (Summer 2021), as well as the QC Attack out of Bettendorf, Iowa (Summer 2018). She served as an intern with the WNBA's Chicago Sky during the summer of 2017, where she helped plan, execute, and organize various marketing activities and events throughout the season. Lopez is a 2019 graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, Il., and was a stand-out point guard for the Vikings. Throughout her collegiate playing career with Augustana, Lopez led the team in both steals and assists in 2017 and set a single-season record for free-throw percentage at 91.0 percent.  Lopez holds a bachelor's degree in business administration in marketing and political science from Augustana and a master's degree from Aurora University in Business Administration with an emphasis in leadership.

Tre Leverette enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Bethany College women's basketball team in 2025-26. Leverette comes to Bethany after playing college ball at Lamar Community College. After two seasons for the Runnin' Lopes, he studied sports management at Adams State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2018. Leverette has been coaching since 2018, including coaching youth basketball and AAU part time. He is a part of the Trendsetters 15U-16U AAU travel team coaching staff.
