Kyndall Waters

Head Coach

Kyndall Waters, a native of Homewood, Ala., and 2005 Birmingham-Southern alumna, began her tenure as BSC's Athletics Director on June 1, 2016, after serving as Assistant A.D. and Compliance Director for nine years. Prior to being named Assistant A.D. in 2007, she worked in BSC’s Athletic Marketing Department for two years, and during the 2005-06 season she served as Birmingham-Southern Athletic Intern. Waters also served as BSC’s Assistant Volleyball Coach for four seasons, from 2008-2012. Waters is a 2005 BSC graduate with a Bachelor of Science in psychology, and she went on to earn her Master of Human Environmental Science with a concentration in Sport Management from The University of Alabama in 2006. Waters is a member of the BSC Sports Hall of Fame, becoming the school's first volleyball player to be inducted. As a student-athlete on the Hilltop during Birmingham-Southern’s NCAA Division I era, Waters, a setter, was a team captain all four seasons and is the BSC all-time assist leader with 5,151. She also earned Big South Conference All-Academic and Big South Presidential Honor Roll accolades, Strength and Conditioning All-American honors, and was the President and Co-Founder of BSC’s chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Additionally, Waters was a member of the Dean’s List, Mortar Board Honor Society, and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. She was also a member of Chi Omega Fraternity, and served as an advisor after graduation.

Katie McCormack is joining the Birmingham-Southern volleyball coaching staff as Volunteer Assistant Coach at the conclusion of the 2023 fall season. The former Panther volleyball player comes back to the Hilltop after an outstanding collegiate career. Katie served as volunteer assistant coach at UAB for the 2018 season. Prior to being on the Blazer coaching staff, she spent two years at BSC where she served as the program’s volunteer and then assistant coach.   As a coach at Birmingham-Southern, McCormack managed team travel, recruiting, marketing, and fundraising for the program.She also trained setters and facilitated team drills. While on staff in the 2017 season, BSC made its second ever NCAA tournament appearance and finished second in the Southern Athletic Association.   McCormack was a four-year starter at Birmingham-Southern College from 2012-15. She led the Panthers as a setter to the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015 where they advanced to the Round of 32 and finished ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in school history. McCormack earned the program’s first AVCA All-America honors and finished fourth all time in career assists. She also ranks inside the top 10 all time in service aces with 126.   Katie McCormack graduated in 2016 from Birmingham-Southern College with a degree in religious studies and a minor in business administration.
