Gordon begins his first season as the Huskies head coach after being named to the position in October, 2016. He was the Huskies assistant for three seasons before his appointment. Prior to coming to Bloomsburg he had spent six seasons as the assistant coach at Ashland (OH) University where he was also a standout wrestler for the Eagles. At Ashland, Gordon was involved in every aspect of the AU program playing a prominent role in recruiting, assisting in camps and special projects along with coaching responsibilities during matches and practices. He had four consecutive top five recruiting classes, including a number one ranking in 2009 according to USA Wrestling. Gordon also helped coach 26 NCAA D-II national qualifiers; nine NCAA D-II All-Americans and 21 NWCA All-Academic student-athletes. He helped the Eagles to a 15-2-1 dual meet record in 2010-11, the school's best record in 30 years.   As a wrestler Gordon was a three-year letterman for the Eagles. He was a two-time qualifier for the national meet and a two-time Academic All-American (Wrestling Coaches of America).  He won a championship at the 2008 Midwest Classic and that same season was a regional champion. During the 2007-08 season Gordon was ranked as high as third in the country.  Gordon also served as a team captain.   Gordon began his collegiate career at Eastern Michigan where he was a two-year starter on the mat at EMU. As a high school wrestler Gordon was a wrestling standout at Mapleton (OH) High School.  During his prep career he was a four-time OHSAA state placer and a two-time state champion.  He was also named the most valuable wrestler at the state championship meet. He holds Mapleton's record for career takedowns (886).   Gordon earned a degree in special education at Ashland. He, his wife, Jessica, and son Nash, reside in the Bloomsburg area.

Head coach John Stutzman returns to Bloomsburg for his second stint as the head wrestling coach for the 2024-25 year, as announced by director of athletics, Dr. Michael McFarland. While with the Bulls, Stutzman led the team to an 89-107 record in dual meets and a 36-50 slate in MAC matches. Stutzman sent 25 wrestlers to the NCAA Championships during his time at Buffalo. Before taking over the University of Buffalo program in 2013, Stutzman enjoyed a standout career at Bloomsburg. During his eight seasons with the Huskies, Stutzman posted a 97-56-1 record in duals and a 27-20 slate in EWL matches. Stutzman has guided the Huskies to a record of 97-56-1 in his eight seasons ranking him third all-time in career wins. He has coached three NCAA Division I All-Americans, eight Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) champions, 76 EWL place winners and 33 NCAA Division I national qualifiers.   Three times Stutzman has earned the EWL Coach of the Year honor as well as producing the 2007 EWL and PSAC Freshman of the Year; the 2009 EWL Championship’s Outstanding Wrestler and the 2011 PSAC Freshman of the Year.   In 2012-13  Stutzman’s Huskies posted a record of 17-3 claiming the first outright EWL Dual Meet Championships in program history while beating three nationally ranked teams in Maryland, Pittsburgh, and Edinboro.  The 17 wins are tied for the most in the programs history.  As a team the Huskies finished ranked 15th in the country by the NWCA. At the EWL championships Sutzman led the Huskies to a third place finish, with two EWL Champions, while qualifying six wrestlers for the NCAA championships. Following the season he earned his third EWL Coach of the Year honor.   During the 2011-12  season Stutzman led the Huskies to a record of 16-7 and finished 2nd at the PSAC Championships as well as 5th at the EWL Championships. The 16 wins included wins over Ohio, West Virgina University, North Carolina State, and Buffalo. At the EWL championships Sutzman led the Huskies to a 5th place finish, while qualifying four wrestlers for the NCAA championships.   In 2010-11 Stutzman led the Huskies to a record of 14-6 and finished third at the EWL Championships. The 14 wins were the most for the program since the 1990-91 season and included wins over Penn, North Carolina State, Northern Iowa and Buffalo. At the EWL championships Stutzman led the Huskies to a third place finish, while qualifying two wrestlers for the NCAA championships, including EWL-champion Mike Dessino. Stutzman was honored by his fellow coaches at the end of the season by being named the EWL Coach of the Year. In 2009-10 Stutzman led the Huskies to a record of 10-8, which included an appearance at the NWCA National Duals for the first time in 20 years. During the 2008-09 season Bloomsburg was third at the EWL championships and had the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler in Matt Moley. At the NCAA championships Moley earned All-American honors for the second straight year, the first time since the 1988-89 season that a BU wrestler was All-American in consecutive seasons. In 2007-08 Stutzman coached three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships with Matt Moley picking up All-American honors at 157 pounds. During the 2006-07 season Stutzman earned EWL Coach of the Year honors helping Matt Moley earn the EWL and PSAC Rookie of the Year award and heavyweight Mike Spaid becoming the school’s first All-American since the 1993 season.   In his first eight seasons at UB, Stutzman led the program to 71 dual wins and was named the MAC Coach of the Year in 2019. This past season, Stutzman posted a 10-12 record and finished 5-3 in MAC duals while sending a pair of wrestlers to the NCAA Championships -- Sam Mitchell (197 pounds) and Nick Stampoulos (157 pounds).   In arguably one of his most successful seasons at UB, Stutzman led the Bulls to a 12-6 dual record in 2021-22. The 12 wins tied the program’s most wins since 2018 and 2004 and UB went 7-2 in MAC duals, their best record since joining the conference. They placed fourth at the MAC Championships after putting eight on the podium. Three wrestlers qualified for the NCAA Championships, including John Arceri (149), Michael Petite (157), and Jay Nivison (174). The Bulls finished 14th in the final NWCA Mid-Major Poll.   In 2018-19, Stutzman led the Bulls to their most successful season since joining the Mid-American Conference in 1998. UB’s 12 dual wins tied the most since 2004 and its five conference wins were the most since joining the Mid-American Conference in 1998. Two Bulls, Troy Keller (165) and Brett Perry (197) were MAC champions. Buffalo produced six national qualifiers, its most since 2011, including Bryan Lantry, UB’s first four-time national qualifier.   Buffalo finished second at the 2019 MAC Championships, its highest finish in program history. Stutzman was named the 2019 Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year.   Bryan Lantry (133) and Jake Gunning (285) each qualified for the 2018 NCAA Championships. Lantry also became the first wrestler in school history to advance to the championship match at Midlands, beating the nation’s second and third-ranked wrestlers along the way. Prior to becoming Bloomsburg University’s head wrestling coach, he was an assistant coach for seven years at the Division I level. During those seven seasons, Stutzman worked at three very successful universities: the University at Buffalo, Northern Illinois University and Bloomsburg. Throughout that time, he assisted in the development and maturation of six conference champions, 22 Division I NCAA qualifiers, and two Division I All-Americans. He has recruited six classes that have been ranked in the top 25 nationally. In addition to his college coaching duties, Stutzman has coached with the New York Athletic Club at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 USA Olympic Freestyle Trials, as well as the 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Senior World Team Trials where he has coached Six World Team Trials participants, three Olympic Team Trials participants, and one USA National Team Member. He was also an assistant wrestling coach for the 2009 NWCA All-American tour in Seoul, South Korea. Stutzman is also a member of the USA Wrestling coaching staff since 2009. He has served as the head coach of the University World Team in Warsaw, Poland; the Ziolkowski International in Spala, Poland; the Stephen Sargsyan International in Armenia; the 2011 Fila Junior World Championships; the Dimtry Korkin International in Yakutsk, Russia and the Ramzan Kadirov Cup in Chechnya, Russia. He also served as an assistant wrestling coach for Team USA for the University Team Championships in Poland in 2009. During the 2004-05 season, he helped coach six Bloomsburg NCAA qualifiers and helped lead the team to a 10-win season. The Huskies won their first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship since 1990, recording the school’s 14th title in school history. Bloomsburg had two PSAC Championships in 2005, and also three EWL title-winners. At Northern Illinois from 2000-2002, Stutzman coached All-American Scott Owen as well as helping lead the squad to a second-place finish at the Mid-American Conference Championships. From 1998-2000, Stutzman served as the assistant coach at Buffalo helping coach the school’s first Mid-American Conference champion. Buffalo qualified six wrestlers to the NCAA Championships in those three seasons and compiled a 19-10-2 record. A 1998 graduate of the University of Buffalo, Stutzman was 95-27 in a three-year career for the Bulls and left as the school’s all-time leader in career wins. His best year for the Bulls was the 1996-97 season when he posted a mark of 35-4. He was a three-time East Coast Wrestling Association place winner and a two-time alternate for the Division I championships. Stutzman, a native of New Castle, Del., is married to the former Annette Hasseman. The couple has two daughters, Alexa Bryanna, and Torin Valera, and one son Paxton.  

Mester begins his third season as head coach at Bloomsburg University in 2015-16..   Mester, a graduate of Central Michigan, led the Huskies to an 8-8 record in his first year with the team, while sending six individuals to the NCAA championships. Before coming to Bloomsburg he spent one season as the Chippewas' top assistant coach after two seasons as the assistant coach at the University of Missouri. While with the Tigers he helped lead the team to their first Big 12 Tournament championship in 2012 after a runner-up finish in 2011. Missouri boasted a school-record four individual Big 12 champions in 2012 and qualified an individual for the NCAA Championships in all 10 weight classes. Prior to Missouri, Mester spent five seasons as the strength and conditioning coach at the University of Nebraska. He worked directly with 14 All-Americans and three NCAA Championships finalistsincluding two national championsand was part of a staff that led Nebraska to a pair of fourth-place team finishes at the NCAA Championships.   One of the top wrestlers in CMU history, Mester is tied for 11th in school history with 104 career victories from 2001-04. He won three Mid-American Conference championships (2001, 2003, 2004) at 141 pounds and was an All-American in both 2003 and 2004. A three-time recipient of the Chick Sherwood Award as CMU's Most Valuable Wrestler, Mester was named MAC Wrestler of the Year as a senior. Mester's career winning percentage of .806 (104-25 overall) still ranks fourth overall in program history, and he owns two of the top eight single-season winning percentages in CMU history: .897 (26-3 overall, No. 6 all-time) in 2002-03 and .891 (33-4 overall, No. 8 all-time) in 2003-04. Mester earned a sport studies degree from CMU in 2004. He spent his first year following graduation as an assistant coach at CMU, helping lead the Chippewas to MAC regular season and tournament titles and a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Championships in 2005.   Mester and his wife Lory, are the parents of three children (daughter Charlotte and sons Cecil and Benson). Head coach John Stutzman has announced Mitch Moore as his assistant coach for the Bloomsburg wrestling program. Moore begins his official duties on September 7.   Moore comes to Bloomsburg after a successful career on the mat. Moore is a five-time NCAA Tournament qualifier for Rutgers, the University of Oklahoma, and Virginia Tech. Most recently, Moore capped his career at Rutgers as a graduate transfer for the 2023-24 season and finished sixth in the Big Ten Tournament and qualified for the NCAA Championships.   Before Rutgers, Moore wrestled for three seasons at Oklahoma University. With the Sooners, Moore was a two-time NCAA Tournament qualifier and led Oklahoma to their first Big 12 Conference Championship in 20 years. Moore Finished third at the Big 12 Tournament in 2023 and was the tournament runner-up in 2021. Moore served as the team captain from 2021 to 2023.   Moore began his collegiate wrestling career at Virginia Tech during the 2018-19 season. He was the ACC Freshman of the Year in 2019 and the ACC Tournament runner-up that season. The 141-pound grappler was a two-time NCAA Tournament Qualifier for the Hokies.   During his six-year career on the mat, Moore compiled an 89-44 record and wrestled both at 141 pounds and 149. Moore went 19-9 during his last season at Oklahoma and had 51.9% of his wins come by bonus points during his freshman season at Virginia Tech.   Before arriving at VT, Moore was a four-time Ohio High School state champion from Urbana, Ohio, and was the 30th wrestler in state history to accomplish that feat.   When not wrestling, Moore spent the last 11 years as a wrestling clinic instructor throughout clinics in Ohio, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Virginia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Moore taught over 1,000 youth wrestlers about the sport, techniques, and fundamentals. He developed multiple wrestlers personally and athletically into current and future Division I grapplers.   Moore is a 2022 graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in criminology. He is pursuing his Master of Science in global sports business from Rutgers University with an anticipated graduation date of December 2024.    

Lyon begins his second season as a volunteer assistant at Bloomsburg University. Lyon comes to Bloomsburg after spending four seasons as an assistant at Central Michigan.   Lyon wrestled one season at Central Michigan before transferring to Cerritos College in Los Angeles, Ca. where he was a JUCO runner-up at the national championships.   While assisting at CMU, Lyon helped coach 15 Mid-American Conference champions; nine All-Americans; two Academic All-Americans and was a part of three MAC regular season and tournament championships.   As a high school wrestler in Michigan he was a three-time Michigan State Champion and an NHSCA All-American.
