Head Coach
Marvin will enter his ninth season as the head coach of the men's and women's swim teams at Bloomsburg University in 2016-17. Marvin arrived in Bloomsburg after spending 30 years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he oversaw the operation of the aquatic complex at the International Swimming Hall of Fame. He was involved in coaching with the Fort Lauderdale Swim Team and Fort Lauderdale Aquatics. Marvin was also an administrator for the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) during their annual Swim Forum. A 1978 graduate of Bloomsburg, Marvin was an 11-time All-American performer for the Huskies, winning five PSAC titles, and setting six conference records. He was a two-time winner of the school's Underclassman Athlete of the Year award and received the Robert B. Redman Award as the school's top male senior athlete in 1978. He was the first swimmer inducted into the university's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990. The YMCA of the USA named him the recipient of the 2002 Joseph G. Rogers Award for outstanding service to their National Competitive Swimming & Diving Committee. In 2011, Marvin was inducted into the Broward County (FL) Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions to aquatics in South Florida. Marvin is a two-time FINA Masters World Champion and world record holder, and a 28-time US Masters National Champion. He is a certified member of the American Swimming Coaches Association, as well as member of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. Marvin and his wife Meg are the parents of two boys, Robert and Matthew, and reside in Bloomsburg. WOMEN Under Marvin's guidance, the Bloomsburg women's swimming team has finished second at the conference championships in back-to-back seasons in 2015 and 2016, marking the first back-to-back runner-up finish since 1991 and 1992. For his efforts, Marvin was named PSAC Womens Swimming Coach of the Year after the 2014-15 season. The Huskies have broken 15 of the schools 19 records, leaving just four on the board that were established before Marvin took over. His swimmers have had 57 record-breaking performances and own 135 times on the All Time Top Ten list. They have won four individual and five relay titles at the PSAC Championships, including a championship meet record in the 200 medley relay this past season. Five swimmers have been named NCAA All American and Rachel Brooker was named Academic All American in 2015. Brooker (2015) and Alex Wheatley (2016) were Bloomsburg University Outstanding Female Senior Athletes of the Year, while Brooker (2014), and Caroline Hodgins (2015) were named Bloomsburg University Outstanding Female Underclass Athletes of the Year. During the 2015-16 season the Huskies posted a dual meet record of 8-2, dropping just the first meet of the year to 14-time PSAC champion West Chester and Division I Lehigh University. For the year, the team set eight school records - several of them multiple times throughout the season. Bloomsburg was also ranked has high as #9 nationally during the season. At the 2015-16 PSAC Championships, the Huskies' Alex Wheatley was a three-time champion, winning the 100 backstroke and was the lead off swimmer in the winning 200 and 400 medley relays. The women rolled up a team record 626 points, 49 more than the previous record high of 577 at the 2015 meet. Eleven women were named All PSAC and the team grabbed 31 All PSAC awards. Nikki Young went on the represent Bloomsburg at the NCAA championships in Indianapolis, competing the 100 and 200 breaststroke. She broke the team record in both events, finishing tenth in the 100 breast and earning All-American honors. During the 2014-15 season, the Huskies posted a dual meet record of 8-1 - the team's best mark since the 1992-93 season. The team also set 14 school records, including junior Caroline Hodgins taking two of the team's oldest marks, the 200 free and 1000 free, that had been on the books since 1986. They posted 46 new all-time Top Ten times and the team was ranked nationally, earning a #13 ranking from College Swimming.com during the year. At the 2014-15 PSAC Women's Championships, the Huskies' Rachel Brooker was a four-time PSAC champion, winning the 200 fly title and as a member of the 200 and 400 medley relays and the 400 free relay. Alex Wheatley, Nikki Young, and Meg Gallagher were two-time relay champions, with Ashley Dix and Caroline Hodgins winning one. Two swimmers, Brooker and Hodgins, went on to swim at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis. Brooker earned two All-American awards in the 100 and 200 fly, and also competed in the 200 IM and 100 free. Hodgins earned All-American honors in the 500 and 1000 free, while also competing in the 200 and 1650 freestyle. During the 2013-2014 season, the women finished fourth at the conference meet with Rachel Brooker winning the PSAC title in 100 fly. Brooker and teammate Brooke Gilson then went on to swim at the NCAA championships in Geneva, Ohio. Gilson swam the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle, claiming All-American honors in the 1650. Brooker claimed All-American honors the 100 and 200 fly, while also competing in the 200 IM and the 100 free. In the 2011-2012 season, Bridget Hilferty represented the Huskies at the NCAA Championships in Mansfield, Texas. She competed in the 200, 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle, earning All American honors in the 1000 and 1650. MEN Under Marvin's guidance, the men have finished second at the conference championships in three of the past four seasons, after not finishing above third place since 1968. For his efforts, Marvin was named PSAC Mens Swimming Coach of the Year in 2013, 2014, and 2016. After a very successful 2015-2016 season, the Huskies have now broken every mens team record under since his arrival. They have had 131 record-breaking performances and have 166 times on the All Time Top Ten list. Only 21 times now remain on the list that were posted prior to Marvins coaching career. His swimmers have established five PSAC conference records, won six individual PSAC titles, and grabbed two PSAC relay victories. Seven swimmers have been named NCAA All-American and two swimmers have been named PSAC Freshman of the Year. Juan Castaneda (2011), Jake Harner (2015), and Sam Feiser (2016) were named BU Outstanding Male Underclass Athletes of the Year, while Castaneda (2013) and Harner (2016) were named BU Outstanding Male Senior Athletes of the Year. During the 2015-16 season, the Huskies posted a dual meet record of 7-2, dropping just the first meet of the year to 29-time PSAC champion West Chester and to Division I Lehigh University. The team set 14 school records, several of them multiple times throughout the season. Bloomsburg was also ranked has high as #10 nationally before ending up 18th at the NCAA championships. At the 2015-16 PSAC Men's Championships, the Huskies' Sam Feiser won the 50 free and the 100 butterfly with Jake Harner winning the 100 breaststroke. The men also won the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays for their first relay wins in 42 years. They set five PSAC Championship meet records and rolled up a team record 801 points, over 200 more than the previous season. Eight men were named All-PSAC and the team grabbed 32 All-PSAC awards. Eight swimmers went on the represent Bloomsburg at the NCAA championships in Indianapolis. Jake Harner led the way by finishing 5th in the 100 breaststroke and 10th in the 200 breaststroke, while Sam Feiser finished 15th in the 50 free. The Huskies also advanced four relays to finals, winning two consolation finals and finishing 10th and 11th in two others. Harner, Feiser, Ryan Paisley, A.J. Brady, Eric Usbeck, Kyle Dix , and Josh Grzech all gained NCAA All-American honors. In 2014-15, the Huskies posted a solid 6-2 dual meet record with their only losses coming to PSAC champion West Chester and PSAC runner-up IUP. Along the way, they established 12 team records and repeated as champions at the Akron Invitational in December, rolling up an incredible 1893 points. At the 2015 PSAC Championships, the men finished third, falling just short of their season goal of three-peating a second place finish. The third-place ranking had been achieved only one other time in program history - back in 1974. During the meet, they posted five top-three individual finishes and four top-three relay finishes. They had a total of 23 championship final swims and eight men walked away with 21 All-PSAC awards. Over the course of the year, they put 59 new times on the BU All Time Top Ten list. In 2013-14, Marvin guided the BU men to the runner-up spot for the second straight year at the PSAC Championships finishing with a school record 581.5 points. At the meet, the Huskies set 15 of a possible 19 school records, including records in four of the five relay events. The Huskies also crowned an event champion when Jake Harner won the 200 IM title, lowering his own school record by more than a second. The Huskies were ranked as high as #15 in the College Swimming.com national poll and also won its first Akron Invitational title in December topping a field that included several Division I schools. In 2012-13, Marvin led the Huskies men's team a second place finish at the PSAC championships, the team's best finish in 45 years, with Harner being named the PSAC Men's Freshman Swimmer of the Year.

Bridget Hilferty
Assistant Coach
Hilferty enters her third season as the full-time assistant coach after serving as a volunteer assistant during the 2013-2014 season. Her primary duties include coaching the distance program, handling academic strategies with student-athletes, and community service initiatives. Hilferty was instrumental in Caroline Hodgins successful two-year career at Bloomsburg after transferring in 2014. Hodgins broke two of the oldest records in program history, taking down the 200 and 1000 freestyle marks that stood for 29 years. She became a two-time PSAC champion and went on to the NCAA championships where she became a two-time All-American in the 500 and 1000 freestyle. Hilferty also guided Brooke Gilsons road to the NCAA championships in 2014 where she earned All-American status in the 1650. On the mens side, Hilferty coached distance standout Brandon Sherbo to team records in the 500, 1000, and 1650 - marks that still stand today. As a four-year performer for the Huskies, Hilferty was a dominant force in the distance freestyle events, earning NCAA All-American honors in both the 1000 and 1650 in 2012. She was a perennial top eight finalist at the conference championships and was a force during dual meet competitions. Hilferty is currently a team record holder in the 800 freestyle relay and is ranked in the program's all-time Top Ten in the 200 (fifth), 500 (fourth), 1000 (fifth), and 1650 (fourth). She was twice named the teams Swimmer of the Year and served as team captain in both 2012 and 2013. As a high school swimmer at Perkiomen Valley, Hilferty qualified for the PIAA State Championships in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. She was also a three-year YMCA National Championship qualifier for the Boyertown YMCA.
