Head Coach

Kayser has built the Boston College Golf Teams into dominant programs in the Northeast. Kayser was named the Head Coach in 2012, after 4 years as the assistant coach while he was employed as the Head Golf Professional at Belmont Country Club. Since taking the reins, Kayser has tasked himself to recruit the best and brightest players from New England and around the country. In his first year coaching at Boston College, Kayser lead the womens team to an impressive win at the 2008 Rutgers Invitational. He followed with a victory at the 2009 and 2011 Rutgers events, while also leading the womens team to a 9-shot victory at the 2010 Dartmouth Intercollegiate. He assisted junior Stephanie Hu in capturing the individual title in a sudden-death playoff. In 2012-13, Kayser coached Isabel Southard to an individual selection for NCAA Regionals. He also coached freshman Katia Joo (2011-12) to the All-ACC Team, the second player in Boston College history to receive that honor. Kayser led the mens team to a 9-shot victory at the 2010 ECAC Mens Golf Championship, the teams fist win in 6 years. At that championship, he assisted sophomore Luke Feehan in claiming low medalist honors with a 2-day total of 4-under par. In 2014, Kayser lead the Eagles to victory at the CCSU Blue Devils Fall Invitational, with junior Nick Pandelena taking the individual title in a play-off victory over teammate Connor Greenleaf. Kayser coached sophomore Andy Mai in 2013 and junior Nick Pandelena in 2015 to Ping All-Region (Northeast) Team honors. Also in 2015, senior John Jackopsic, junior Nick Pandelena, and freshman Patrick Hallisey were named to the All-New England Team. Hallisey was also selected as the New England Rookie of the Year that same year. With the Boston College motto Ever to Excel always in mind, Kayser strives to insure his student-athletes achieve success on the golf course as well as in the classroom. Each year, numerous Boston College golfers receive Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll recognition for outstanding academic achievement. In addition, numerous players have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team, exemplifying outstanding achievement academically and athletically. Recipients include: Katia Joo (4 times), Cristina McQuiston (2 times), Kyle McCartan (2 times), John Jackopsic (4 times).  In 2014, Kayser created the BC Golf Mentorship Program to assist the student-athletes of the golf teams with interviewing, internship, career, and networking opportunities. Kayser is a PGA of America Master Professional of Instruction, one of 3 in New England and one of only 37 PGA Professionals out of 28,000 to successfully complete Specialty Certification in Instruction; Kayser was elected to PGA membership in 1998 and has held the Master Professional distinction since 2005.
