Damon Stancil
Head Coach
Stancil was hired in February 2013 to start the new golf program and has steadily developed the Golden Tigers into a Top-50 NAIA program. Since its inaugural season, the Brenau Golf program has garnered 11 All-Tournament, six SSAC All-Academic, two SSAC All-Conference, 2 NAIA All -Scholar, one SSAC All-Freshman, one SSAC Golfer of the Week awards as well as earning the 2014-2015 SSAC Champions of Character team award. During his tenure, Stancils team has also recorded three individual tournament victories and two team tournament victories which has elevated the team to #41 in the NAIA GolfStat rankings heading into the 2016-2017 seasons. Before coming to Brenau, Coach Stancil served as a graduate assistant coach at the University of North Georgia. Stancil, a Class A PGA Professional, brings over 10 years of experience as a golf professional and instructor as well as collegiate playing experience. Stancil was a member of the Berry College golf team from 1997-1999, which includes being a part of the 1998 NAIA National Championship team. Stancil has a Master of Arts in Teaching (HPE) degree from the University of North Georgia and a Bachelors degree in Sports and Fitness Management from Berry College. He is also a member of the Womens Golf Coaches Association of America as well as the Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Lambda Theta Honor Societies. Coach Stancil and his wife Patty Stancil, DPT., sons Jackson, Emmett and daughter Roxanne live in Gainesville, Ga.
