Abbie Parde

Head Coach

Abbie Parde finished her fourth season in charge of Brevard College volleyball in the Fall of 2025. In 2024, Parde led the Tornados to their most single-season wins since 2009 and first winning record since 2017. Parde was elevated to the head coaching position after serving as Interim Head Volleyball Coach of the Tornados in 2022. In 2023, the Tornados qualified for the USA South Conference Volleyball Tournament. In the 2022 season, Parde led the Tornados to a strong finish with wins in three of the five final matches of the year, including a two-match sweep in the year's final USA South Conference quad-match.      Parde arrived at Brevard College as an Assistant Coach under Coach Anna Grant in January of 2022.  In addition to her role as an assistant coach this past spring, she also served as a Sports Information Assistant in BC's Department of Athletics.  In July, she was named Interim Head Volleyball Coach after the departure of Grant who had been at the helm of BC Volleyball for seven years. Parde began her collegiate coaching career in August of 2019 as an assistant at Nebraska Wesleyan University, an NCAA Division III and American Rivers Conference member located in Lincoln, Nebraska.  In Parde's first year on the staff, NWU went an impressive 20-8 overall and won its last nine regular-season matches in 2019.   In 2021, the Prairie Wolves won their first six matches of the year en route to an 11-win season. In her role at Nebraska Wesleyan, Parde assisted with practice and game planning to go along with an emphasis on recruiting.  Moreover, she led the NWU student-athletes in team culture-building activities while also executing effective social media content and campaigns.  During her tenure, Parde also served as Head Coach of the Nebraska Wesleyan Junior Varsity Volleyball team. Since 2016, Parde was the Head Volleyball Coach at the Nebraska ONE Volleyball Club where she helped develop and prepare young athletes for their high school and collegiate careers.  Moreover, Parde was a successful player for several years for Nebraska ONE.  She also worked as a reserve volleyball coach for two seasons at Waverly High School in Waverly, Nebraska. Eric Friedt

Assistant Coach

Eric Friedt was named the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Brevard College in 2024, and enters his second season with the Tornados in 2025.  Friedt arrived at Brevard College from Akron, Ohio where he was a head coach and an assistant coach for multiple Junior Olympic Girls Volleyball teams with NOVA Juniors.  In addition for the past several seasons, he served as the Head JV Girls Volleyball Coach and the Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach at Stow-Munroe Falls High School in Stow, Ohio.     In addition to his coaching experience, Friedt has gained experience with top-flight sports organizations in Northeast Ohio.  He served as an intern for Enshrinement Week in 2019 for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.  Also in 2019, he worked as an Annual Giving Programs Associate for the International Soap Box Derby Headquarters.  Furthermore, Friedt has served the community as a mentor at The Lebron James Family Foundation's I Promise School and as a swim instructor for the Akron Public School system. Friedt graduated Cum Laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Studies-Sport Management with a Minor in Business Administration.  While at the University of Akron, Friedt founded the school's Men's Volleyball Club team.

Bailey Lance

Assistant Coach

Brevard College Head Volleyball Coach Abbie Parde announced the addition of former BC volleyball student-athlete Bailey Lance ’25 to the coaching staff, as Lance has been named Volunteer Assistant Coach. Lance enters her first season on staff in 2025. Lance joined the Tornado staff after a highly-successful four-season playing career at Brevard in which she achieved numerous personal milestones and set program records as the team’s libero. In 108 total matches played in four seasons with the Tornados, Lance blew through the 1,000 career digs mark, accumulating 1,825 over her playing career to rank second all-time in BC’s NCAA era. Lance served up a NCAA-era BC record 213 career service aces and 0.54 aces-per-set, with single-season records for aces (67) and aces-per-set (0.68) as well. Lance was selected as the USA South Conference Defensive Player of the Week in 2023, and off the court earned 2023-24 USA South Academic All-Conference honors and was selected as a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District performer in 2022.
