Yan Rosado

Associate Head Coach

Yan Rosado serves as the associate head coach and goalkeeper coach for the Briar Cliff men’s soccer program. In his role, Rosado assists with the daily operations of the program, including training sessions, match preparation, recruiting, and the development of student-athletes. He brings a diverse background in coaching and player development, including training through the FC Barça Academy methodology, as well as experience in scouting and video analysis to support player evaluation and tactical preparation. Before transitioning into coaching, Rosado competed as a professional goalkeeper and played across multiple competitive levels in the United States, including the NCAA, NAIA, NPSL, and USL. Originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Rosado is currently pursuing his master’s degree in leadership and sports management at Briar Cliff University and is expected to graduate in May 2026.

Liam Brandso

Associate Head Coach

Liam Brandso is currently serving as the Associate Head Coach of the Briar Cliff University Women’s Soccer Program, a role he began in December 2025. He is still assisting with the men's program. He brings a dynamic blend of international experience, collegiate playing success, and coaching leadership across both men’s and women’s teams in the GPAC and beyond.  Brandso joined the Charger women’s soccer program as an Assistant Coach in 2024 and then moved over to the men’s soccer program in 2025. Brandso is already familiar with the GPAC landscape through his successful playing and coaching career at Midland University. As a student-athlete, he was a key contributor to Midland’s 2019 NAIA National Tournament run and earned All-Conference Team honors during the 2020 season, where he finished 3rd in the GPAC in total points.  Upon graduating with a Bachelor's in Sport Management and Marketing in December of 2021, Brandso transitioned into collegiate coaching as an Assistant for the Midland University Women’s Soccer team from Spring 2022 through the Fall 2023 season. In his final season coaching at Midland, running the program alongside the other assistant, they managed to win the GPAC Tournament Championship and earned a spot at the National Tournament, which was the first time for Midland since 2019.  In 2024, Brandso expanded his coaching experience internationally, leading both the Women’s First and Reserve Teams at Waimak United in Christchurch, New Zealand. During this time, he pursued his Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) C License, deepening his tactical and developmental knowledge of the game.  Originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, Brandso is currently completing his Master’s in Leadership and Sports Management at Briar Cliff University and is on track to graduate in May 2026.

Hugo Mariage

Assistant Coach

Hugo Mariage serves as both a graduate assistant and assistant coach for the Briar Cliff men’s soccer program. Originally from France, Mariage began his collegiate career at Skagit Valley College, where he earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2022 and led the NWAC in assists. He then transferred to Briar Cliff University for his junior and senior seasons, helping the Chargers capture an undefeated GPAC Conference championship in 2023 and advance to the NAIA National Tournament. Over his collegiate career, Mariage appeared in 69 matches with 62 starts, totaling 14 goals and 19 assists. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2025 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports management and leadership. Mariage is the son of Bertrand and Celine Mariage and has one younger brother, Louis.

Luis de la Fuente

Coach

Luis De La Fuente serves as the Head Coach of the Briar Cliff men’s soccer program and Director of Soccer, overseeing both the men’s and women’s soccer programs. A native of Arriondas, Spain, De La Fuente brings an extensive international playing and coaching background to Charger Athletics. He began his career in Spain, graduating from the University of Oviedo with a degree in business administration while competing at the semi-professional level in Spain’s Tercera División. De La Fuente later moved to the United States to continue his education and playing career at Tusculum University (NCAA Division II), where he earned his MBA. During his playing career, he received national and conference recognition, including NCAA Division II National Player of the Week honors and multiple conference and institutional awards. He joined Briar Cliff University in 2023 as a graduate assistant and assistant coach for the men’s soccer program. In his first season on staff, the Chargers won the conference championship and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament, reaching the second round. De La Fuente was promoted to head coach of the men’s program in March 2025 and led the Chargers to an 8–8–3 record in his first season. He completed master’s degrees in leadership and sports management from Briar Cliff University in May 2025. In December 2025, De La Fuente was elevated to director of soccer, expanding his role to oversee both the men’s and women’s programs. In addition to his collegiate responsibilities, he serves as a coach for Diablos Football Club, as well as a tournament director and member of the club’s board. De La Fuente comes from a supportive family in Spain. His parents, Julia Castro and Luis De La Fuente, reside in Arriondas. He also has one sister, Julia De La Fuente, who earned a degree in business administration and a master’s degree in accounting, and currently works as an accountant for a multinational company in Oviedo.
