Donaco Watts
Head Coach
Coach Donaco Watts was named Head Coach of Charger wrestling in May of 2024. Watts has been a member of the Charger wrestling coaching staff since his start as a graduate assistant in the 2013-14 season. He served two years as a graduate assistant, five as head assistant coach, and four seasons as Associate Head Coach. Before BCU, Watts was an assistant coach at Muskogee High School in Oklahoma from 2007-10. He coached four individual state champions during that time period and helped guide the team to a Class 6A Dual State Championship in 2010, after finishing as runner-ups in 2009. Watts was a student assistant at Missouri Valley College during the 2005-06 season and helped the team place seventh at the NAIA national tournament. He attended the NWCA Coaches Academy during the summer of 2015. Watts was an Oklahoma State Qualifier in 2000 before he went on to Missouri Valley College. During his collegiate career, he notched more than 100 wins and was a 2x NAIA All-American by placing 3rd at 157 in both 2004 and 2005. He was also a member of the 2003 NAIA National Championship team. His career included several wins over All-Americans from every collegiate division. Watts has been on the All-American Wrestling Camp staff in Winfield, Kansas, since the summer of 2006 and also participated in several other camps and clinics in Oklahoma, Iowa, and Nebraska. Watts earned a Bachelor of Arts in exercise science from Missouri Valley College in 2006 and earned a Master of Arts in management from Briar Cliff in 2015. He was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He has four children: Sir Brandon, Somarah, Selah, and Saben.

Privitere helped five wrestlers reach the NAIA national meet in the 2015-16 season with Sonny Gulesian, Michael Andreano, Curtis Bright, Jordan Watkins and Dalton Presley all qualifying for the national stage. During the 2014-15 season, Privitere sent three wrestlers to the NAIA national meet with Kyle Robison, Abram Reynolds and Skylar Weber. In the 2013-14 season, Privitere guided three wrestlers to the NAIA national meet as Anthony Pike, Abram Reynolds and Kyle Robison all qualified for nationals. Privitere helped Pike achieve all-american status with an eighth place finish at the national meet. He came to Briar Cliff after serving as the head assistant coach at NCAA Div. I Davidson College for three years. Prior to that, Privitere was an assistant coach at The Citadel Military College of South Carolina, in Charleston, S.C., from 2005 until 2007. In his three years with the program, the roster size has grown to nearly 40 wrestlers representing 21 States requiring a facility upgrade. The Charger wrestlers now call McCoy Arnold home for their practice venue. In the off season, Coach Privitere spends time on the Iowa Cadet and Junior Greco team staff helping develop Iowa summer wrestlers into winter champions. In the summer of 2013, the Iowa Junior Greco Team finished 2nd in the Country. His time there landed him the title of Northwest Regional Representative for USA Wrestling-Iowa. Recently, Coach Privitere accepted a scholarship to the NWCA Coaches Academy, a tremendous learning experience and opportunity he feels will help better himself and the program. Out of high school, Privitere wrestled at the State University of New York at Binghamton, in Vestal, New York. The NCAA Div. II All-American was a three-year team captain for the Bearcats. The Johnson City, N.Y. native and two-time all-conference selection finished his illustrious career second on the school's all-time win chart and having set the single-season win record with 38. In addition to his college experience, Privitere was also the 1998 High School National Champion, 1999 FILA Greco All-American, 2000 FILA Greco World Team Trial Champion and the 2000 FILA Greco World Silver Medalist. He earned his bachelor's degree in human development and education from Binghamton in 2003. He then went on to earn his master's degree in health, exercise and sports science from the Citadel in 2007 while serving as an assistant with the Bulldog wrestling program. Over the years, Privitere, who holds a USAW Bronze-Level Certification, has also been involved in numerous wrestling camps and clinics. Privitere took over the program's lead from Damon Clayborne, who served as the part-time head coach for six years. Privitere is the program's fifth head coach since Briar Cliff reinstated the sport in 1997. The 2014-15 season will be program's 15th consecutive year and 22nd overall season. Donaco Watts is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Chargers after serving as a graduate assistant the past two years. He attended the NWCA Coaches Academy during the summer of 2015. Drew West
Assistant Coach
Drew West was named Assistant Wrestling Coach in July of 2024. West holds a highly decorated wrestling career, being a four-time Iowa High School State Placer, three-time Iowa High School State Finalist, and one state title during his prep career. He was also named a Cadet Greco-Roman USA World Team Member and placed third and fifth at the Senior US Open. West finished fourth in the US World Team Trials. West began his collegiate career at Northern Illinois University before transferring to Gardner-Webb. A two-year starter for the Runnin' Bulldogs, West compiled a 42-20 overall record and placed third in the Southern Conference Tournament in 2022-23 and was the runner-up in his final season at Boiling Springs.
