Michael Caruso
Head Coach
Caruso was named the Bears Director of Aquatics as well as the head coach for the mens and womens swimming and diving programs in the summer of 2011. Caruso is a 2002 graduate of Bridgewater State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. He also received a Master of Science of degree in Sports Management from Indiana State University in 2004. Mike captained the Bridgewater State mens swimming and diving team both his junior and senior seasons and was selected as the Bridgewater State Lee Harrington Unsung Hero Award winner for the 2000-2001 academic year. Prior to returning to BSU, Mike spent six seasons from 2002 to 2008 as the head swimming and diving coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, and three years as the head swimming coach in the Town of Concord (Massachusetts) recreation program (Concord Otters). While at Rose-Hulman, Mike coached two Division III All-Americans and two honorable mention All-Americans. One of his swimmers, Matt Smith, won the national championship in the 100 breaststroke during the 2002-2003 season. In each of his six seasons with the Fightin Engineers, Mike had at least one student-athlete provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships. He was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Mens Swim Coach of the Year for the 2007-2008 campaign. Coach Caruso is a level four certified coach by the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA). In 2003, he was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the ASCA for his outstanding coaching performance at Rose-Hulman. Mike presently resides in Weymouth, Massachusetts with his wife, Shannon.

Charlie MacDonald
Assistant Coach
MacDonald joined the BSU Swimming & Diving coaching staff prior to the 2015-2016 season. Charlie earned a B.A. in Physical Education with a Concentration in Coaching from Bridgewater State in 2015. He is currently working on his Masters in Physical Education with an Individualized Concentration in Aquatics & Coaching. Charlie, who hails from Braintree, Massachusetts, competed on the BSU Men's Swimming & Diving team for four seasons from 2011 to 2015. Charlie was captain for the men's team for two seasons and served as President of the BSU Captain's Council his senior year. Charlie received the 2015 Lee Harrington Unsung Hero Award from BSU Athletics for his work with the Swimming & Diving team and the Captain's Council. The Men's Swimming & Diving team won 3 straight Steve Looke Sportsmanship Awards (2013-2015) from the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association during Charlie's time on the team.

Jay Schotter
Assistant Coach
Schotter joined the Bridgewater State University swimming and diving coaching staff prior to the start of the 2013-2014 season. Jay is a 2013 graduate of Bridgewater State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. While at Bridgewater, Coach Schotter was a two-year varsity captain for the men's swimming and diving team as well as a two-year member of the Bears' Student Athlete Advising Committee. During his senior season, the team garnered the Steve Looke Team Sportsmanship Award which is annually bestowed upon the program that best exhibits the tenets of sportsmanship throughout the three-day New England Iintercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association Championships. Schotter graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, Rhode Island in 2008. He was a senior captain of the state championship team and top eight finisher in the 500-yard freestyle. Jay currently resides in Lincoln, Rhode Island in the off-season. Jay is currently pursuing his Masters degree at Northeastern University in Sports Leadership.

Jennifer Jackson
Coach
Jackson is entering her sixth season as the diving coach on the Bridgewater State swimming and diving teams. Jennifer is a 2009 graduate of Bridgewater State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science. A native of Randolph, Massachusetts, Jennifer competed on the BSC women's swimming and diving team for four seasons and was a diving captain on the team during her junior and senior years. She set and still holds four of the five BSC diving records for the one-meter and three meter boards. In 2007, Jennifer captured the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) event championship on the one-meter board and placed second on the three-meter. The following season, she placed first on the three-meter board and finished third on the one-meter. For her outstanding performance at the NEISDA Division II & III Championships, Jennifer was named the Diver of the Meet as well as the Senior High Point Diver. Coach Jackson presently resided in her hometown of Randolph and is a Customer Service and Cash Office Representative at Bob's Stores in Randolph.
