Head Coach
Ip has had five student-athletes named CSCAA Honorable Mention All-American and the program has earned back-to-back CSCAA Scholar All-American team honors. Ip returned to Providence 30 years after serving as an assistant for the Brown womens swim team from 1983-84, where the Bears claimed their first Ivy League title in his only season. Prior to his current tenure at Brown, Ip spent two seasons as an assistant men and womens swimming coach at LSU. At LSU, Ip helped guide the Tigers to success during the 2012-13 season as the men finished 26 overall while the women placed 34 overall at the NCAA Championships. In 2013-14, the Tigers combined for three All-America performances at the NCAA Championships, including two from diver Cassie Weil. The mens and womens teams finished 38 and 36 respectively at the NCAA Championships. Prior to his tenure at LSU, Ip spent 10 seasons as the head coach of the men and womens swimming teams at Clemson where he led the Tigers mens squad to top-30 NCAA finishes in each of his final two seasons. In 2012 he garnered ASCA Coach of Excellence honors for placing a swimmer in the top eight at Nationals. During the 2011-12 season, Ips womens team topped the nation with a cumulative team GPA of 3.62 while earning CSCAA Scholar All-American accolades. Over his decade of service at Clemson, the Tigers programs amassed 24 individual ACC champions, 35 All-ACC selections, 14 Olympic Trial participants, and 16 NCAA All-American performances. From 1989-2002, Ip scored 26 National Championship titles in 13 seasons at Indian River Community College, the most for any coach in NJCAA history. Ip was a 10-time Mens Coach of the Year honoree during that span while coaching over 800 All-Americans. Stints with international tournaments such as the World Short Course Championships, World Games, and Commonwealth Games followed Ips run as the leader of Delawares swimming & diving program. With the Blue Hens, he coached three (two men, one women) East Coast Conference Championship teams in five seasons while also serving as the universitys Director of Aquatics. Ip earned his Bachelors Degree in Biology from East Stroudsburg State before obtaining a Masters Degree in Physiology from Springfield College.

Chris Dart
Assistant Coach
Dart enters his third season as the Brown men's swimming & diving assistant coach in 2016-17. In his two years on College Hill, the program has had five student-athletes named CSCAA Honorable Mention All-American and the program has earned back-to-back CSCAA Scholar All-American team honors. The team has also broken and re-broken multiple school records in his first two seasons, in addition to improving their overall point total at each of the last two Ivy League Championship meets. Dart joined the Bears after spending a year as an assistant swimming coach of the Camana Bay Aquatics Club in the Cayman Islands, allowing him to develop his skills as a stroke technician capable of teaching proper technique to swimmers of all ages and abilities. At Camana Bay, Dart assisted with day-to-day operations, long-term planning, and organizing travel. He also helped guide multiple swimmers to the Cayman Islands National Team and served as lead coach of the Cayman Islands National Development Team. Dart also organized and ran a 250+ person Masters program and was responsible for the first ever Masters-Only swim meet in the Cayman Islands. A decorated student-athlete at Clemson University from 2008-12, Dart was a four-time All-ACC Academic Team selection and two-time All-American Athletic Scholar. He was also a three-time ACC Swimming Champion, holding eight Clemson team records during his tenure. Dart was also a member of the Great Britain Junior National team in 2008, boasting a top-10 finalist designation in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic trials. A native of Chatham, N.J., Dart holds dual citizenship of the United States and the United Kingdom.

Jim Pyrch
Coach
Pyrch enters his second season as the men's and women's diving coach in 2016-17. In his first year at College Hill, Pyrch guided a men's diver to NCAA Zone Diving Championships, where the student-athlete placed 22nd in the 1-meter and 32nd in the 3-meter. Pyrch joined the Bears after spending seven seasons at the University of North Texas as the Mean Green's diving coach. Under Pyrch's tutelage, North Texas boasted four conference finalists scoring over 100 points, three NCAA Zone Diving qualifiers, and a Scholar-Athlete of the Year selection. The Mean Green has held the top-10 program scores and has received 16 Conference USA Diver of the Week selections in Pyrch's seven seasons in Denton. Pyrch also coached North Texas' most successful diver, Catherine Johnson, who claimed three silver and two bronze medals in a three-year span at the Conference USA Championships. Prior to North Texas, Pyrch boasted a tenure with Yale as the Bulldogs' diving coach, where he coached two NCAA qualifiers in 2002, as well as a trio of Ivy League champion divers in consecutive seasons from 2001-03. On the national stage, Pyrch was also a six-time U.S. National Diving Coach, participating in competitions with the squad in Germany, China, Russia, and Sweden. Pyrch also held coaching stints at Macalester College and his alma mater, Southern Connecticut State, where he was a two-time Division II Diving Coach of the Year (1987, 1993).
