Head Coach

Rekoske also served as the athletic director at the high school. Coach Rekoske got his start at Oak Forest Christian Academy, where his three teams went 16-11, 20-9, and 24-6 respectively. The teams started to develop a reputation for tough-minded defense. That reputation has followed him during his 29 years of coaching. He was a teacher and athletic director during his time there. As a collegiate player at Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Coach Rekoske was a three-year letterman. After his senior year, he was named first team All-Conference in the DIII Lake Michigan Conference and First Team All-American NCCAA and NBCA. He completed his degree in secondary education and earned a graduate degree from the United States Sports Academy. Coach Rekoske has worked basketball camps at the University of Wisconsin, University of Michigan, University of Iowa, University of Minnesota, University of Northern Iowa as well as several small college camps. He has run camps for high schools in five different states. He has been married for 20 years to his wife, Beth. They have two children: Olivia, 16, and Carter, 13. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, fishing, and traveling. Coach Bryon Lawhon is in his third season as a coach in the Bryan College mens basketball program and his second with the women's program.  He serves as Assistant Coach on Varsity and Head JV Coach for both programs.   Coach Lawhon is the Director and Coach of the East Tennessee Rangers AAU program, where he has coached several current college players.  He has coached high school teams to a 2013 Runner-Up finish in the USBA National Tournament (38 wins), 2014 USBA National Championship (46 wins) and 2015 NTBA National Championship (43 wins). Prior to coming to Bryan College, Lawhon coached at North Middle School in Lenoir City, Tenn.  He helped lead the team to District Runner-Up, State Sectional berth, and a 19-4 record. Coach Lawhon has helped area high school coaches in player development and has worked several camps, including the University of Virginia and University of Kentucky skill camps. "I am honored for the opportunity to coach at Bryan College, stated Lawhon.   "It is a real privilege to learn from two proven Coaches in Coach Rekoske and Coach Smith while working with a great staff, faculty and student-athletes." Coach Lawhon played collegiately at Hiwassee College and Atlanta Christian College, which is now Point University. He played high school basketball at Lenoir City High School in Lenoir City, Tenn., where he was Top 5 All-Time in rebounds and blocked shots in school history. He had several professional offers after finishing at ACC. Lawhon and his wife, Holly, have four children: Skylar (12), Zane (11), Chase (9), and Kali (7).
