Bryn Mawr College Women's Field Hockey

Three-time Centennial Conference Coach of the Year Victor Brady begins his ninth season leading the Bryn Mawr field hockey program in the fall of 2025.    Under Brady’s watch, the Owls have claimed 87 wins, 11 wins against nationally-ranked opponents, reached the Centennial Conference tournament for the first three times in program history and in 2024 led the team to a NCAA tournament berth for the first time in program history. That win-total is the second-most in Bryn Mawr coaching history, only to Bryn Mawr legend and National Field Hockey Coaches Association Hall of Famer Jenepher Shillingford. In 2024, the Owls earned a national ranking of #10, the highest in program history. Bryn Mawr secured an appearance in the Centennial Conference semifinals for the third consecutive season after defeating #24 Swarthmore in the first round of the Conference tournament. The Owls went on to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, beating #17 SUNY Geneseo on Shillingford field, the first NCAA tournament appearance and win in Bryn Mawr history. Two Owls earned NFHCA Senior team selections, and four players were named NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honors. In 2023, Bryn Mawr earned a national ranking for the first time in program history, peaking at #16 after a win on the road at NESCAC-opponent Wesleyan.  The Owls earned a spot in the Centennial Conference semifinals for the second consecutive season after defeating Dickinson in the first round of the Conference tournament.  Bryn Mawr also defeated Ursinus for the first time in program history.  Two Owls apiece earned NFHCA All-Region and Scholar of Distinction honors.    The 2022 season saw Bryn Mawr post their best season in program history.  The Owls earned their most wins in program history (15) and their first-ever wins against nationally ranked opponents, defeating both Christopher Newport and Franklin & Marshall on the road.  The win over the Diplomats was the first in program history and earned the Owls a spot in the Centennial Conference Championship game for the first-time in program history, where they played national runner-up Johns Hopkins to a 1-1 stalemate through overtime before falling in seven rounds of a shootout.    Hazel Miller was named Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Maggie Titus and Miller were named NFHCA All-Americans (the first for the program since 1983), and Brady earned Coach of the Year honors.  The 2019 campaign saw the Owls earn a Centennial Conference postseason berth for the first time in program history on their way to a 14-4 overall record.  The Owls picked up numerous historic wins along the way as well; a 3-2 overtime win on the road over Gettysburg gave Bryn Mawr their first win over the Bullets in program history (the first time any non-racing team at Bryn Mawr has ever defeated Gettysburg). Bryn Mawr also won over Washington College for the first time since 1993, Muhlenberg and Dickinson for the first time since 1996, and McDaniel for the first time since 1999. The Owls built an eight-game winning streak at one point during the campaign, their longest win streak in program history. In 2018, Brady helped lead the Owls to their most wins and first winning season since 1996. In addition, in 2018 Bryn Mawr completed the Tri-Co sweep with victories over both Haverford and Swarthmore for the first time in the same season in recorded program history.  Brady was named the head field hockey coach at Bryn Mawr College in May of 2016, joining the Owls after serving as an assistant coach at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.  At Smith, Brady was involved in every aspect of the program under head coach Jaime Ginsberg. Thanks in part to Brady’s guidance, the 2015 Pioneers compiled their most wins in a season since 1993, defeated three NCAA-Tournament participants, and won the program’s first-ever East Coast Athletic Conference Championship while competing against one of the strongest schedules in all of Division III.  In addition to his college coaching experience, Brady is heavily involved in USA Field Hockey, club, and camp coaching. He serves as a USA Field Hockey NEXUS Head Coach and holds a Level III Coaching Certification.  Brady also works with the Main Line Mayhem Field Hockey Club (Conshohocken, PA).    In 2024-25, Brady is severing as the chair of the NCAA Division III National Field Hockey Committee. A native of White Plains, New York, Brady completed his Master of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Studies at Smith College in May, 2016. He arrives at Bryn Mawr familiar with both the Centennial Conference and the Tri-Co as a 2013 graduate of Swarthmore College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with High Honors while majoring in political science. 

Riley enters her third season at the helm of the Bryn Mawr field hockey program in 2015-16. Riley became the sixth field hockey coach at Bryn Mawr since the Owls joined the Centennial Conference in 1993. She came to the Main Line after serving as the assistant coach at Indiana University for the previous two years. A Palmyra, Pa. native, Riley was the goalkeeper coach at Indiana and in charge of team travel while serving as the liaison for academics, alumni and athletic training. Before heading to the Hoosier state, Riley spent four seasons at Temple University where she was an assistant coach for the Owls. During her time in Philadelphia, Riley helped lead the Owls to 41 wins, including a 15-6 mark in 2007, and an 18-9 overall record in Atlantic-10 conference play. Having served in multiple facets of USA Field Hockey since 2005, Riley has functioned as a head coach in the Futures program and an assistant coach in the High Performance program. She has also been a coach at numerous Division I/II camps and clinics and has coached within the club ranks for all age groups. Riley is a 2007 graduate of the University of Michigan. While with the Wolverines, she helped her team win two Big Ten regular season titles and two Big Ten Conference Tournament championships. She was named Second Team All-Big Ten in 2006 and a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Second Team All-Region selection in 2003 and 2006. She was also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. Riley was recognized as a three-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and a four-time University of Michigan Scholar-Athlete.  She is also a member of the Palmyra High School Sports Hall of Fame, inducted in 2011. Riley also holds a Masters degree in Sport Management through Drexel University, having completed the program in 2015.
