Bryn Mawr College Women's Tennis

Wang enters his second year at the helm of the Owls in the 2016-17 season. Wang comes to Bryn Mawr with a track record of success, having previously served as the head coach of the womens and mens tennis teams at Colby College. In his eight years at Colby, his teams achieved to heights not previously reached at that program. The womens team was recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team each year, while the men received the same honor in all but one season under Wang. He also coached a two-time All-American and NCAA singles tournament qualifier, as well as a pair of doubles tournament qualifiers, all for the first time in program history at Colby. Prior to his tenure at Colby, Wang was an assistant coach of womens tennis at the University of Wisconsin for a season, and before that was the head womens tennis coach at Edgewood College. In three years at Edgewood, Wang helped coach four players to conference singles championships and had four doubles champions. He was named Lake Michigan Conference Coach of the Year in 2005 and Northern Athletics Conference Coach of the Year in 2006. Beyond the coaching realm, Wang also worked as the Director of Tennis for the Village of Shorewood Hills in Wisconsin from 2004 to 2007, where he managed day-to-day operations, oversaw a large coaching staff, and helped design various unique tennis programs in the community. A New York native, Wang played collegiate tennis at Binghamton University from 1991 to 1995 and helped the team earn their first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament during his senior year. The squad finished the season ranked 10th nationally. Wang earned a bachelor's degree in psychobiology from Binghamton University in 1995 and completed his master's degree in social work in 1999 from the University of Wisconsin. I strongly believe in the Division III philosophy encouraging a balanced scholar-athlete experience. As I integrate and learn more about the Bryn Mawr College community (and the greater Philadelphia area), I am confident that we can be a best-fit for young women to pursue their academic and athletic goals. Bryn Mawr College is certainly a community where young women can aspire for excellence in their academic, athletic, and networking pursuits.
