Buena Vista University Women's Track

Schroeder begins his second season as the head men's and women's cross country and track and field coach at Buena Vista in the fall of 2015. Schroeder coached multiple all-conference men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field performances in 2015 along with one individual who earned a pair of All-American accolades. Schroeder, a native of Byron, Ill., is no stranger to the Iowa Conference as he was a 2011 graduate of Coe College.  While competing for the Kohawks he became one of the schools most decorated runners in its history, having set three new school records and was a two-time All-Central Region runner.  At the 2010 NCAA Division III National Cross Country Meet, Schroeder finished 52nd with a time of 25:10.6.  He became just the second-ever Kohawk to qualify for the national championships. Prior to arriving at BVU, Schroeder was at Marian University (Wis.) where he spent one year as head coach of both the cross country and track and field programs.  He served as the inaugural coach for the Sabres track and field programs in 2014 and coached a pair of individual all-conference finishes during the outdoor season this spring. Prior to his year at Marian, he spent two seasons serving as a graduate assistant at Aurora University. He and wife Keelie reside in the Storm Lake area.

Slack arrived to campus beginning in the fall of 2015 as an assistant track and field/cross country coach before being hired on as head coach starting in the fall of 2016. Slack came to BVU after having served as an assistant track and field coach at Anderson University in Anderson, Ind.  (2014-15).  During his tenure there, he coached three school-record holders - men's 200 and 400 meter dashes, as well as the women's 4x400 meter relay. Prior to that, he began his coaching career at the high school level with stints at Plainfield High School (Ind.) in 2013-14 as well as Terre Haute South Vigo High School in 2011-12.  During both stops, he helped coach state qualifiers, including a runner-up in 2014 (4x100 relay in 41.68). Slack was a stand-out track and field athlete himself at Indiana State University from 2008-2010.  He earned a pair of all-conference accolades as a member of the 4x400 meter relay team where it currently ranks third on the top-10 list.  In addition, he ranks fifth in the 4x200 and seventh in the 500 meter dash.  Slack graduated with an Exercise Science degree (Physcial Education-Exercise Science) in May of 2012 and was listed on the Dean's List multiple times. Wall begins his second season as an assistant coach on the Beaver track & field and cross country teams in the fall of 2016. Wall is a 2013 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University where he finished his career as a four-time letterwinner, including an All-American accolade in 2009 while running a leg on the 4x400m relay team that placed third. He has since served as a track and field office assistant at NWU (2011-13) and most recently as a graduate assistant for ticket operations for the Dakota Dome in Vermillion South Dakota, as well as a volunteer assistant track and field coach that assisted with the sprints and hurdle events. Wall earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science and Business and holds a minor in coaching.  Earlier this year, he completed his Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology & Sports Science. He resides in Storm Lake.
