Rachel Grampp

Hired at Buffalo State: Spring 2022 Prior to Buffalo State: Assistant Coach - Buffalo State (2019-21) Assistant Coach - SUNY Canton (2018-19) Alma Mater: Elmira College '18 Rachel Grampp completed her fifht season as the Bengals head coach following the 2025-26 season. Grampp took over as the interim head coach for the Bengals partway through the 2021-22 season, and led the Bengals to a six-win improvement in her first full season as interim in 2022-23.   During the 2022-23 season, Buffalo State posted its best record since the 2018-19 season, including five victories at home. The Bengals also doubled their goal production from the previous year, scoring 58 goals. That mark was the highest in a single season since the 2016-17 season for Buffalo State.    Grampp mentored freshman forward Vanessa Willick to a NEWHL All-Rookie Team campaign in which she recorded 15 points on nine goals and six assists. Seven student-athletes, including four from Grampp's first full recruiting class, recorded double-digit point totals for the season. Prior to taking over as interim coach, Grampp was an assistant coach for Buffalo State from 2019 to 2021. She also has previous coaching experience as an assistant coach with SUNY Canton in the 2018-19 season, and has spent the last four years as a coach for the USA National Development Camp. Grampp was a standout defenseman for Elmira from 2014 to 2018, earning United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Defensive Player of the Year and American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Academic All-American honors as a senior. During her time, the Soaring Eagles earned national runner-up finishes twice, and reached the NCAA Championships in all four seasons. She also was a key member of the women's lacrosse (44 points, 28 goals, 16 assists) and women's soccer teams (120 saves as a goalkeeper) at Elmira. Candice Moxley

Moxley became Buffalo State's third womens ice hockey coach in May 2013 and led the Bengals to the ECAC West playoffs for the first time in six years during her first season behind the bench. She has worked as a video coach with Hockey Canada's National Development Team in 2013 and 2014.  Prior to Buffalo State, Moxley spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Ohio State, where she helped the team improve its win-loss record each season.  Prior to joining the Buckeye staff, she served one year as the head coach at Trinity College School in Port Hope, Ontario, and two years as an assistant at Robert Morris in Pittsburgh, where she was responsible for game strategy planning, video review, practice planning and opponent scouting. Before her stint at Robert Morris, Moxley was the head on-ice Instructor for Canadian Hockey Enterprises from 2002-2008. There, she was in charge of implementing on-ice practice plans for a variety of ages and skill levels. Moxley has also worked as an instructor at the Stephanie Boyd's Female Hockey School and the New Ice Age Hockey School in Stouffville, Ontario.  She also had stints coaching for Goulding Park Midget Boys AA Hockey and for the Markham District High School's women's varsity team.  A native of Markham, Ontario, Moxley is familiar with Western New York as a four-year player at Division I Niagara from 2001-05, where she played in 135 career games and netted 34 goals and 78 points.  As a freshman, she helped the team reach the NCAA Frozen Four.  A team captain and All-College Hockey America (CHA) honoree as a senior, she was also a three-time CHA All-Academic Team member. She continued her playing career after completing her bachelors degree in business commerce from Niagara, spending time in the National Women's Hockey League.  She also earned a silver medal at the Esso Womens Hockey Nationals and at the 2007 Provincial Championships.   She won a silver medal with Team Canada in the World Inline Hockey Championships in France in 2014 and was also a member of the 2013 Canadian National Ball Hockey Team. Moxley also has a masters in business administration from Niagara and another masters in instructional leadership from Robert Morris.

Tanis Lamoureux

Assistant Coach

Lamoureux joined the Buffalo State women's hockey coaching staff for the 2015-16 season.  She will play a reduce role, but continue to serve as a volunteer with the Bengals in 2016-17 as she pursues her graduate work in biomedical engineering at the University at Buffalo.    Lamoureux is no stranger to the ECAC West, having played four seasons at Elmira and serving last season as an assistant coach at Utica.  As a player, she served as a two-year captain and helped lead the Soaring Eagles to an NCAA Division III National Championship as a junior.  She was named second team All-American as a senior and first team All-ECAC West as a senior, finishing her career with 106 points on 44 goals and 62 assists in 109 games.  She was also a four-time member of the ECAC Wests All-Academic Team.   Lamoureux completed her bachelors degree in biology from Elmira.  The Canton, Mich.-native continues to play competitively as a member of the Toronto Furies in the Canadian Womens Hockey League (CWHL).
