Tony Verde

Head Coach

Verde led the Cavaliers to consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) titles and appearances in the NCAA Tournament in 2008 and 2009. In 2009, Cabrini jumped out to a 16-shot lead after day one at the conference championship, and held off second-place finishing Keystone College by 19 strokes on day two to win the title. The Cavaliers placed 35th at the NCAA Championship hosted at the PGA Villages in Port St. Lucie, Fla. In 2008, Verde led the Cavaliers to its first CSAC crown in program history, rallying from a nine-stroke deficit after 18 holes and besting Neumann College. He was named the leagues coach of the year. Cabrini finished 30th at the national championship in Braselton, Ga. Verde has twice received the CSAC Coach of the Year distinction, also earning the conferences top coaching accolade in 2005 when the Cavaliers finished second overall at the conference championship. He remains the only coach in program history to claim the leagues coach of the year honor. Before Verde took over the program heading into the 2000 season, Cabrini hadn't placed in the upper half of the conference since 1993. He brought the Blue & White home third in 2000 and mentored the squad to a second third-place finish in 2002. Verde headed the mens golf team at the University of Toronto for sevens seasons (1982-88). For seven years (1998-05), Verde chaired the Exercise Science Department while also serving as executive director of the Dixon Center. Among other things, he oversaw building operations, the fitness center, intramurals and recreation programs for the campus community. Verde recently retired after a distinguished career as an associate professor of exercise science and health promotion at Cabrini. He earned his masters of science and doctorate in preventative medicine and biostatistics from the University of Toronto. Verde received his bachelor of science in biology and biochemistry from Brock University in Ontario. Verde resides in Wayne, Pa.

Brian Moose

Assistant Coach

Moose will begin his second year as an assistant coach in 2016-17 after a four year stint as head coach. Moose saw the Cavaliers finish second at the 2015 CSAC Championship meet, just four strokes out of first place.  Four Cavaliers finished in the top 11, with all five particpants placing in the top 25.  Sophomores Dan Gentilucci, Joe Myers and Michael Rojas completed the two-day tournament in fifth, sixth and seventh places respectively, while senior Tommy Breslin finished 11th. Moose returned the Cavaliers to the top of the CSAC standings in 2014, as the Blue and White captured the program's fourth CSAC title.  Moose earned his first Coach of the Year honor after watching senior Rob Bass finish atop the conference championship leaderboard, eight strokes ahead of freshman Michael Rojas, who finished third. In 2013, the Cavaliers finished second in the championship.  In the tournament's second round, Cabrini shaved 20 strokes off its opening day card, led by junior Rob Bass and sophomore Tommy Breslin, who finished in a tie for fourth overall. In 2012, senior Chris Sarvadi posted a two-day total of 153 to claim the league's overall championship by one stroke. Moose is also the Director of Instruction at RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve in Phoenixville, PA.  Moose has been teaching golf full time since 2012 and has had the opportunity to teach many types of individuals from beginning golfers to tournament caliber players.   His students have collected a number of titles the past few seasons including the following:  IJGT Greate Bay and Westover, Philly PGA Junior Tour Spring-Ford Country Club and Blue Bell Country Club, RiverCrest Mens Club Champion, RiverCrest Junior Club Champion, Avalon Ladies Club Champion. The Cavaliers home facility is RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve which includes an indoor heated training facility allowing for instruction in all weather conditions.  Moose and the team use a number of teaching tools including V1 Software, Flightscope, indoor putting greens, and The Wedge which allows for work on all types of lies.  Outside the facility the team uses the training green which allows for putts up to 80 feet in length and shots from 40 yards in length.  The training bunker allows students to hit greenside bunker shots from 10 to 40 yards and also fairway bunker shots.     Prior to his current position, Moose was the First Assistant Golf Professional at RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve from 2008-2012.  His duties included organizing club and match play tournaments, running the clubs junior golf program and teaching lessons. A Cabrini alum, Moose competed on the Cavaliers golf team in 2000-01 and was named to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) All-Conference Team in 2001.
