Tommy DeLuca ('20)
Head Coach
Tommy DeLuca joined the men’s lacrosse coaching staff in August 2021. A four-time All-Atlantic East Conference performer and two time Defensive Player of the Year, DeLuca moved into the coaching ranks after a career that included 12 All-America honors. The Apex, NC native capped his playing career at the nation’s top defensive player according to the nation’s coaches, as DeLuca was named 2021 William C. Stiles Most Outstanding Defenseman by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) after a season that saw him pair 37 caused turnovers and 58 ground balls. The honor came with a USILA All-Americ First Team nod, making DeLuca just the program's seventh First Team All-American. In 2021, DeLuca, a two-time captain for the Cavaliers, broke the program’s record for caused turnovers, closing his career with 173, while his 255 ground balls and 83 games played rank second. During the Cavaliers championship season in 2019, DeLuca also set the program’s single season caused turnover mark with 61 and owns the three of the top seven single season performances in that category. DeLuca also lent his voice to Cabrini’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as a four year participant, including two years as one of Cabrini’s two representatives on the Atlantic East SAAC. During DeLuca’s prep days At Apex high School, he led the team to state titles in 2013 and 2015 collected three all-conference, all-region and all-state honors. DeLuca also coaches with the Team TEN Lacrosse Club. DeLuca completed his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a-minor in sports management in 2020 and is currently working towards his master’s degree in business administration.

Steve Colfer
Assistant Coach
Colfer has mentored the Cavaliers to 15 consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) titles and 14 straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He owns a commanding 213-58 career record. The Blue and White has also won 94 consecutive CSAC regualr season games, just eight wins shy of the NCAA record. Beginning the 2014 season, Colfer ranked third among active Division III head coaches in winning percentage (.785) and listed fourth all-time. He claimed his 150th career win with a 9-6 victory against Marywood University in the 2011 CSAC championship game and his 200th in a 9-8 win over Mary Washington in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. In 2014, Colfer mentored the program's first natonal [player of the year, as Corey Elmer (2011-14) received the USILA Iroquois National Award as the Most Outstanding Player in Division III. Elmer also joined John McSorley (2012) and Casey Grugan (2010) as the program's USILA First Team All-Americans. In his 14 years, Colfer has coached 43 USILA All-Americans, including seven in 2014. Seven Cavaliers have also garnered USILA Academic All-American honors, including Elmer and JoJo Cooper in 2014. Colfer is an 10-time winner of the CSAC Coach of the Year honor, last receiving the award in 2015. The Cavaliers opend the 2014 campaign with a program record 11 consecutive victories, including four wins over top 20 teams. The Blue and White ranked as high as No. 2 in the USILA Coaches Poll. Cabrini closed the season with a 17-2 record, tying a school record for most wins in a season, and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. After facing one of the nation's toughtest schedules, including seven USILA Top 20 teams, the Cavaliers closed the 2013 with an overall record of 15-4, while extending its CSAC win streak to 96 consecutive regular season games. The Blue and White closed the season ranked No. 5 in the USILA poll and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cavaliers had one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2012. Colfer led the Blue and White to its second 17 win season, while reaching reaching No. 6 in the USILA rankings. Six Cavaliers were honored as USILA All-Americans including McSorley, the program's second First Team honoree and second three -time All-American. In 2008, Colfer coached the Cavaliers to a program-best 17 wins. Under his tutelage, four student-athletes third-team honoree Grugan and honorable mention selections Matt McKinney, Jeff Moore and Scott Reimer claimed USILA All-America distinction. The Cavaliers finished the season ranked No. 6 nationally, the programs highest listing all-time.
