Jonathan Miller

Head Coach

Miller heads into his fourth season as the head women's water polo coach at CBU after taking over the reins in the spring of 2014. Miller previously was an assistant for both the men's water polo and swimming and diving programs in 2012. Miller, a former standout water polo player for the Lancers, came to CBU after three seasons as the head women's water polo coach and assistant swimming and diving coach at Grove City College in Grove City, Pa. In three seasons, CBU has gone 64-37, a .634 winning percentage, under Miller and finished a program-best third in the Golden Coast Conference in 2016. The Lancers have produced six All-Americans under Miller, including back-to-back NCAA Division II Player of the Year honors for Hannah Evans, as voted on by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches.  Miller led the Wolverines to CWPA Division III titles in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and was named 2010 CWPA Division III Coach of the Year. During his tenure with Gove City, the Wolverines racked up a 52-34 record, including a program best 18-8 mark his last season. He also helped lead the Wolverine men's and women's swimming and diving teams to three straight Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championships. With both a bachelor's and master's of science in kinesiology from CBU, Miller also served as an assistant professor of physical education at Grove City for three years. Miller graduated from CBU in 2008, staying on as a graduate assistant for the men's and women's water polo programs while he earned his master's degree. A four-year standout goalie for the Lancers, Miller has the second most saves in program history with 1,025. His 415 saves in 2007 are still the highest single season total in program history and his 22 saves against Pepperdine in 2007 also still sit as a CBU record. Miller was named CoSIDA Academic All-District in 2007 and was ACWPA All-Academic in 2004 and 2006. In Miller's first season as assistant coach, he helped lead the men's water polo team to a 17-12 record, working with the goalies along the way and watching as senior keeper Austen Ramer became the program's all-time saves leader, breaking Miller's record. Miller and his wife Amanda have a daughter.
