Natalie Wildes

Head Coach

Wildes also officially took the reigns as head coach of the men's volleyball program after serving as interim head coach since March 2012.   Womens Team: Wildes began her collegiate head coaching role in 2009 at Cardinal Stritch University. Under her leadership the womens volleyball program has made drastic improvements from one year to the next. Wildes has led the womens program to at least 28 wins each of the last four seasons, including two trips to the NAIA National Tournament (2013 and 2014), two CCAC Championships, making the CCAC tournament every year under her watch, breaking records on the court (both team and individuals), and establishing high standards in the classroom. 2009 and 2010 were building years for Coach Wildes, establishing short term and long term goals for the program. Trusting in the process of preparation, Wildes was focused on making offensive and defensive improvements from one season to the next, continuing to celebrate and build on successes, and establish credibility within the conference and contention for championships. The 2011 season was a key turning point for the Wolves womens program. It marked the first winning season for Wildes at Stritch. The Wolves had an eight-match winning streak that included a huge win over CCAC foe Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.). Stritch also posted a 12-3 record at Panella Court. Wildes led Stritch to a 21-15 record during 2011 for the programs best mark to that point in the previous 15 years. The 2012 campaign featured another impressive improvement with a  28-11 overall record and 14-5 mark in the CCAC for second place in the North Division and a fourth seed overall in the conference tournament. After a huge conference tournament first round win at home, Stritch advanced to the Semi-finals of the CCAC tournament, where they would end up finishing their season. The Wolves tallied a 14-5 CCAC record and 15-2 record at Panella Court during this season. During 2013, the Wolves finished 28-13, including a 15-2 mark in the CCAC and 9-3 record on Panella Court. Stritch earned the CCAC North Division title, going undefeated in divisional play, and the third seed overall in the conference tournament. The Wolves advanced to the CCAC tournament championship match, finishing as runners-up in the CCAC tournament. This gave them the programs first bid to the NAIA National Tournament in program history.   The Wolves captured the 2014 CCAC North Division title once again going undefeated in conference crossover play and for the first time in school history earning the CCAC regular season title before also winning the conference tournament. This seasons finish also marked back to back appearances at the NAIA National Tournament for the Wolves. Wildes was named CCAC Coach of the Year this season. The Wolves would finish the season with a 28-18 overall record, 14-3 in CCAC, and 10-4 on Panella Court) In 2015, not only did the Wolves win the CCAC North Division title for the third consecutive season, but they also finished with a 32-11 overall record (12-3 on Panella Court), the winningest in school history. Stritch finished with a 16-3 CCAC record, giving them the second seed in the conference tournament. The Wolves finished their season in the semi-finals of the conference tournament.   Under Wildes, the Stritch women's volleyball team has also been awarded several individual and academic awards, including: 5 AVCA All-American Honorable Mentions, 8 AVCA All-Region Mid-East, 1 AVCA All-Region Mid-East Libero of the Year, 1 NAIA National Player (Setter) of the Week, 1 CCAC Player of the Year, 2 CCAC Freshmen of the Year, 1 CCAC Libero of the Year, 1 CCAC Setter of the Year, 1 CCAC Coach of the Year, 21 CCAC All-Conference, 13 CCAC Players of the Week, 17 NAIA Scholar-Athletes, 41 All-Academics, 4 AVCA Team Academic Awards, and 1 Cardinal Stritch University Female Student-Athlete of the Year Mens Team: In March of 2012, Wildes was named interim head coach of the men's volleyball team. Leading the program for its final 14 matches, she compiled a record of 9-5 and a MAMVIC East record of 1-1. The Wolves eventually finished 20-14 while taking second in the conference at 9-3. Under her watch, Stritch made it to the MAMVIC East Conference Tournament Championship.   Wildes guided the Stritch men to a regular season MAMVIC East Conference title (10-2) during the 2013 season. The Wolves achieved an 23-13 overall record that was highlighted by an eight-match win streak late in the year and a 13-1 record on Panella Court. The Wolves would go the distance in the conference championship match, but were defeated in a hard fought championship finishing their season as conference tournament runners-up.  With a realignment across NAIA Mens Volleyball, the Great Lakes Conference was formed. For the Wolves, 2014 felt like déjà vu. It was another good year for the men's team as they became back to back regular season conference champs, posting another 10-2 conference record and 18-12 overall. The Wolves had good momentum entering into the Great Lakes Conference championship match with another eight-match winning streak. The Wolves yet again would go the distance in the thrilling conference championship match, pushing to extra points in the fifth set. However, Stritch once again would fall short finishing their season as conference runners-up. During the 2015 campaign, Stritch again peaked late in the season with an eight-match win streak. The Wolves entered the Great Lakes Conference Tournament as a second seed. Stritch would get the chance to redeem their previous seasons loss and take down the defending conference tournament champs and number one seed. The Wolves would go on to claim the final Great Lakes Conference tournament title in four sets and earn a spot in the NAIA National Invitational Tournament. They finished their season with a 21-13 overall record, 11-3 in conference, and 11-3 on Panella Court. The 2016 season marked the first for the CCAC sponsoring mens volleyball. In 2016, the Wolves were looking to defend their conference title and make a repeat appearance at the NAIA National Invitational Tournament. With a tough schedule ahead of them they battled through some hard fought wins throughout the season. The Wolves would win big in the final conference regular season match-up against the then undefeated number one seed. The Wolves would end up finishing their season in the CCAC conference tournament semi-final match giving them a record of 21-14 and achieved a CCAC record of 7-3, and 8-5 on Panella Court. The individual and academic awards earned by the Stritch men's volleyball team under Wildes includes: 2 AVCA All-Americans, 1 MAMVIC East Player of the Year, 2 MAMVIC East Defensive Players of the Year, 1 Great Lakes Division Setter of the Year, 1 Conference Tournament MVP, 8 Conference Tournament Team Members ,1 AVCA National Mens Coach of the Year Nomination, 17 All-Conference,15 NAIA Scholar-Athletes, 33 All-Academic, 2 AVCA Team Academic Awards, and 1 Cardinal Stritch University Samuel Cardinal Stritch Service Award.  Wildes, a Milwaukee, Wis. native, returned to the greater Milwaukee area after spending two seasons as the top assistant coach at Lewis University (Ill.). Wildes was part of two Great Lakes Valley Conference championships and two berths in the NCAA Division II tournament, including a Sweet 16 run in 2007. During those two seasons, Lewis compiled a 63-12 overall record and 31-4 mark in the GLVC. Before Lewis, Wildes spent one season as the head mens club coach and assistant womens coach at Earlham College, where the Quakers 14-15 record in 2006 was their best since the turn of the century. Wildes arrived at Earlham after two seasons assisting her former head coach at UW-Parkside, compiling an 18-42 overall mark with the Rangers. Wildes earned her Bachelor of Science at UW-Parkside in 2004 and her Master of Arts at Lewis University in 2009. Wildes earned four letters as a setter for Parkside, receiving All-GLVC honors and ranking second in school history for assists. She also earned the Ranger Award for Parkside athletes who best exemplify the attributes of intercollegiate athletes and excel in representing UWP on and off the field of play. Stritchs volleyball general is active with Milwaukee area club programs and offers her coaching knowledge at university-hosted camps across the country.  UW-Parkside (2004) Bachelor of Science      Lewis University (2009) Master of Arts 162-111 69-27 92-57 41-13   Career Womens Coaching Record Year School Position Record Postseason 2015 2014 Cardinal Stritch University Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach Head Coach 32-11, 16-3 CCAC Semi-Finals (1st North Division, 2nd Seed) 28-18, 14-3 CCAC Champs (1st North Division, 1st Seed) NAIA First Round 2013 Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach 28-13, 15-2 CCAC Runner-up (1st North Division, 3rd Seed) NAIA First Round 2012 Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach 28-11, 14-5 CCAC Semi- Finals (2nd North Division, 4th Seed) -- 2011 Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach 21-15, 7-5 CCAC Quarter-Finals (6th Overall, 7th Seed) -- 2010 Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach 15-21, 3-8 CCAC Quarter-Finals (8th Overall, 8th Seed) -- 2009 Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach 10-22, 4-6 CCAC Qualifiers (7th Overall, 8th Seed) -- 2008 Lewis University Assistant Coach 31-8, 16-2 GLVC Champs (1st East Division, 1st Seed) NCAA First Round 2007 Lewis University Assistant Coach 32-4, 17-2 GLVC Champs (2nd East Division, 2nd Seed) NCAA Third Round 2006 Earlham College Assistant Coach 14-15, 4-12 NCAC (7th Place) -- 2005 UW-Parkside Assistant Coach 6-25, 4-12 GLVC (10th Place) -- 2004 UW-Parkside Assistant Coach 12-17, 6-10 GLVC (6th Place) -- Career Mens Coaching Record Year School Position Record Postseason 2016 2015 Cardinal Stritch University Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach Head Coach 21-14, 7-3 CCAC (3rd Seed) 21-13, 11-3 GLC Tournament Champs (2nd Seed) NAIA Tournament 2014 Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach 18-12, 9-1 GLC Regular Season Champs (1st Seed) -- 2013 Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach 23-13, 10-2 MAMVIC East Regular Season Champs (1st Seed) -- 2012 Cardinal Stritch University Head Coach* 9-5, 1-1 MAMVIC East Tournament Runner-up (2nd Seed) -- Head Coach Natalie Wildes enters her eighth season at the helm of the Cardinal Stritch University women's volleyball program.
