Ken Ackerman

Assistant Coach

Ken Ackerman was named the offensive coordinator/o-line coach in February 2020. The 2021 season will be Ackerman's second year with the football program. Ackerman, a native of Sacramento, Calif., comes from Kentucky Wesleyan College, where he served as the run game coordinator and strength and conditioning coordinator. Other positions Ackerman was responsible for were offensive coordinator at Kentucky State, run game coordinator at South Dakota School of Mines, and at Humbolt State as a tight ends coach. Ackermans recruiting experience expands across 10 different states, including the western area of the United States. Ackerman has had seven student athletes he has coached become all-conference selections, including a freshman of the year at Kentucky State. Ackerman set offensive records in total yards, passing yards, first downs, and points scored in a season during his tenure at South Dakota Mines. Ackermans playing career was highlighted at Nevada, where he was Colin Kaepernicks center for over 30 games. With Ackerman leading the blockers upfront, as the starting center of the offense, Nevada became the first school in all of college football history to have three 1,000-yard rushers in a single season in 2009. Ackerman was an all-conference lineman in the Western Athletic Conference and was awarded the NEVADATUDIE Award for displaying grit and determination on and off the field. Ackerman resides in Waukesha.
