Donley Highlights 1 USILA All-American (Victor Rosado - Honorable Mention, 2025) 1 Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year 8 All-Landmark selections (3 1st Team, 3 2nd Team, 2 Honorable Mention) 2 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-District selections Peter Donley recently completed his second season as the Catholic University head coach in 2025 after he was announced as the third head coach in Catholic men's lacrosse history on July 18, 2023.  The Cardinals posted a 9-10 record in 2025, going 6-3 in Landmark Conference play. Catholic earned the number-four seed in the Landmark Tournament and defeated Moravian in the First Round before falling to top-seeded Scranton in the semifinals. Four Cardinals earned All-Landmark honors, topped by Victor Rosado who was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Year. Rosado scored 39 goals, handed out a single-season record 37 assists, and totaled a single-season record 76 points to pace the Cardinals. Mike Tayloe, another program-record holder, joined Rosado on the All-Landmark First Team after causing 29 turnovers and picking up 55 ground balls. Ryan Macksoud was named to the second team after winning a program-record 274 face-offs. Matt Ford earned Honorable Mention honors as a long-stick midfielder with 10 goals, four assists, 10 caused turnovers, and 25 ground balls. Rosado was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the USILA.  In year one under Coach Donley, the Cardinals posted a 10-9 record, going 5-4 in Landmark Conference play and earning their way into the Landmark Tournament. As the number four seed, Catholic defeated Moravian 13-5 to advance to the Landmark Semifinals where they fell to Elizabethtown, 17-8. The Cardinals ripped off a five-game winning streak between March 9 and March 23 during the campaign. Four Cardinals were named to the All-Landmark team under Donley's leadership including Ryan Macksoud who earned a spot on the first team.  Donley comes to D.C. after an impressive career as an assistant coach across the ranks of collegiate lacrosse. Most recently, Donley served as the Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach at Roanoke College under legendary lacrosse coach Bill Pilat. Donley served as the Defensive and Faceoff Unit Coordinator and held the Recruiting Coordinator title.  During Donley's two seasons at Roanoke, the Maroons compiled a 24-15 record, including a 13-7 season in 2022 that saw them reach the NCAA Tournament. Six Maroons were named USILA DIII Men's Lacrosse All-Americans during his tenure.  Prior to joining the staff at Roanoke, Donley worked as a Volunteer Assistant at Penn State under Jeff Tambroni. The Nittany Lions went 9-9 during the two COVID-shortened seasons, ranking as high as #7 in the polls during Donley's time in Happy Valley. Working with the Faceoff unit, Donley helped coach the group to the top faceoff percentage in the Big Ten in 2021.  Donley has also made stops at Dickinson and Illinois Wesleyan, working under Dave Webster at Dickinson for three seasons. The Red Devils went 40-14 in Donley's three seasons, garnering a ranking inside the top 10 in 2018 and reaching the Elite Eight.  No stranger to the Landmark Conference, Donley graduated from Susquehanna in 2014, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Mo Lanzas

Assistant Coach

Lanzas enters his eighth season at Catholic in 2023 working with the goalies.In 2021 and 2022, he has coached Cardinal standout Nic Pezone to Landmark Conference second team honors. Pezone, under Lanzas' leadership, has amassed a career record of 25-10. He possesses a career save percentage of 55.1 and a career goals-against-average of 9.93. En route to his team's Landmark Conference championship in 2022, Pezone only allowed five goals in the conference semifinal and only eight in the championship before making 13 saves against No. 5 St. John Fisher in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.Lanzas joined the coacing staff in the fall of 2015 and has helped the Cardinals win back-to-back Landmark Conference championships and advance to the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship in 2015 and 2016. Catholic also advanced to the conference title game in 2017 while winning a school-record 14 games. That year, the Cards received votes in the USILA Coaches Poll for eight weeks.In 2016, Lanzas worked with senior Harrison Holak who earned All-Landmark Conference First Team honors after leading the league with saves (256) and save percentage (60.1). Holak also holds the program's career records for saves (680) and save percentage (60.6).In 2018, sophomore Alex Mulyk ranked fourth in the Landmark Conference with 121 saves while Mulyk and senior Jason Schmidt led the league with 180 saves in 2017. Catholic also ranked second in goals against average (7.92) and save percentage (57.1).Prior to Catholic, Lanzas spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at nearby Marymount University in the highly competitive Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) where he served as the goalkeepers coach and worked with the defense and man down unit. The Saints advanced to the CAC quarterfinals in 2012 and the ECAC South semifinals in 2014.While in Arlington, Lanzas worked with Alex Hammer, Ross Fernandez and Derek Digiovanni. Hammer holds the program record for career saves (776) while ranking fourth in goals against average (9.60) while Fernandez is fifth in saves (549) and GAA (10.90). Digiovanni is seventh in saves (445) and eighth in GAA (11.70).Lanzas has also coached various club teams at the youth and high school levels.A 2007 graduate of SUNY Cortland with a degree in business economics, Lanzas was a dual-sport athlete for the Red Dragons in men's lacrosse and wrestling. In lacrosse, he was a part of two SUNYAC championships and reached the NCAA quarterfinals (2005) and national championship (2007). In wrestling, he was nationally-ranked and won the ECWC championship in 2007. He was also a member of the college orchestra.Lanzas was a two-year starting goalie and team captain at Howard Community College before transfering to Cortland. A local product, he attended James Madison High School in Vienna, Va., lettering in lacrosse, football and wrestling.Lanzas currently works for Fairfax County government and resides in Arlington, Va.

Ryan Macksoud

Assistant Coach

A two year starter and four-year member of the Catholic Lacrosse program, Ryan Macksoud will remain at Catholic University as the men's lacrosse program's graduate assistant coach in 2025.  A native of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Ryan was a two time Landmark All Conference Face-off Specialist and holds the record for face-off wins in a season at 274. Macksoud finished his career with a 63% face-off winning percentage, second all-time in career ground balls at Catholic University, and 3rd in career face-off wins. Ryan was also a senior captain and a participant in the 2025 USILA Senior All-Star Game. Ryan graduated from Catholic University in May of 2025 from the Busch School of Business with a Bachelor's Degree in Sales. Now as the Graduate Assistant, Macksoud will be pursuing his Masters in Management from the Busch School of Business.

Chris Hamilton

Hamilton enters his ninth season at Catholic in 2023 serving as the team's defensive coordinator.Since joining the coaching staff in 2015, Hamilton has seen the program rise to new heights. The Cardinals won back-to-back Landmark Conference championships in 2015 and 2016, advancing to the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship for the first time in school history. Catholic also advanced to the conference title game in 2017 while winning a school-record 14 games and finishing with a 14-3 record. The Cardinals received votes in the USILA Coaches Poll and stayed there for eight weeks.Under Hamilton in 2017, Catholic led the Landmark Conference in fewest goals allowed (39), goals against average (6.46) and caused turnovers (64) in its six conference contests.Prior to Catholic, Hamilton was an assistant coach at St. John's College High School from 2012-14 as the team's defensive coordinator.A 2009 graduate of Harding University with a degree in criminal justice, Hamilton played MCLA lacrosse for the Bisons. After graduation, he spent a year teaching English in Wuhan, China.Hamilton currently works as a senior consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, D.C., and lives in Kensington, Md.
