Bumbanac enters his second season as Cayugas mens soccer head coach with an overall record of 11-5 (.688). During the 2015 season he helped lead the Spartans to a 3rd place finish in Region III regular season standings, earning a bye in the first round, and passing Onondaga CC in the semi-finals, earning a place in the NJCAA Region III finals for the second year in a row. Bumbanac led the Spartans to a 5-1 overall record in the MSAC Conference, finishing second during the 2015 regular season. He has coached a number of Spartan players to gain regional and national recognition: one NJCAA and NSCAA All-American player, one MSAC Player of the year, five MSAC All-Conference players, and three All-Region III players. A native of Romania, Bumbanac came to the States as a college player in the summer of 2000 after receiving a full-athletic scholarship from Bryant & Stratton College in Syracuse, N.Y. During his two years there Bumbanac won a NJCAA DI National Championship in 2001, after being a runner-up the previous year. Bumbanac then received a full-athletic scholarship from NCAA Division I Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002, where he helped the team to a CAA-Championship and a NCAA Tournament participation. Bumbanac was also a member of U-16 and U-17 Romanian National Team. Bumbanac started his collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach at Bryant & Stratton College in 2011. During his time with the Bobcats, Bumbanac helped the team to a 2013 NJCAA Region III Championship and a 2013 Western New York Athletic Conference Champions. In 2014 he helped the program to a USCAA National Tournament Semifinal. Bumbanac has also been coaching youth soccer in the Syracuse area for the past ten years. He now coaches with the NY Soccer Central Club in Syracuse NY. Bumbanac holds a National Coaching License from USSF, and a Masters Degree in Business Management from Keuka College, and resides in Clay NY with his wife and 3 children: Andrew, Octavian, and Bianca.
