During that time, he helped the team earn the top spot in the North Division both years and graduated with his AA degree in May of 2023. After his two years at CLC, David transferred to the College of Coastal Georgia where he played for his last two years. George Washington, now entering his fourth season as assistant coach for Coach Russell and the CLC men's basketball program, made the move from South Minneapolis in 2005 to the Brainerd Lakes Area in order to attend college and play basketball at CLC. In the 2007-2008 basketball season, he left his mark as the starting point guard, leading CLC to its first state championship, regional championship, and national appearance. After graduating from CLC, Washington went on to complete his bachelor’s degree in Business at Concordia University. Beyond coaching at CLC, he also coaches an 8th-grade girls' traveling basketball team and actively contributes to local basketball growth as part of the Brainerd Basketball Association. George's journey is a tale of victories, both on the court and in shaping the future of basketball in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
